-The little girl at the end had blue lips like the warlocks of Qarth who stole the dragons at the end of last season. -Rob stark and his army are now at Harrenhal ... the Castle ruin that Arya, Gendry, and Hot Pie just escaped from. Tywin Lannister left The Moutain there with a small garrison last season when he took his army to help save Kings landing. The Mountain and his men killed all the northern prisoners who were being held there (apart from one man they found alive named Qyburn) before abandoning it. Qyburn will become an important character later on...

Not sure if you remembered this but I thought I'd mention it. Barristan Selmy at the end of this episode is the King's Guard (served for over 40 years) that Joffrey and Cersei dismissed as soon as Joffrey took the throne.

New season, new hooks to grab us! - There are a couple theories behind Sam surviving the end of last season, beyond plot armor. He wasn't a threat to the White Walker that saw him, and they were busy sending Wights to attack the 'Fist of the First Men' (the camp the Night's Watch were staying at atop the hill. The other idea is, just like the very first episode of the entire series, they seem to leave some survivors. Maybe it sends a message. - We finally meet Mance Rayder, the King Beyond the Wall that everyone has been talking about. At first blush, he seems a practical man who wants to protect the Wildlings from what he's seen. He was a ranger for the Night's Watch after all, the faction that goes beyond the wall. - Daenerys is currently in Astapor, it's a city in 'Slaver's Bay'. She is still across the Narrow Sea from Westeros. Ser Jorah found one ship out of Quarth at the end of the last season, but they are still in Essos (The East). - Ser Barristan makes his return! If you recall, he was the head of Robert's Kingsguard in Season 1. Joffrey kicked him out for being "too old" after he took over as king.

I know right, she just got through explaining how everyone had an edge... and oh look, a new wrinkle.

You asked if this show has gone over how someone becomes a white walker. The show has not really addressed much in terms of white walkers yet except that they for sure exist lol. All in due time. Thank you for the reaction and can’t wait for the next episode.

"There's GIANTS?!?" was so funny

You are asking some very good questions. Just remember you are just starting season 3. Five more to go!

Halleluya ... I am saved !!! And looking forward to those extras. As to how White Walkers are made that will be shown later. But just to make sure: - Revived dead are wights, they are the footsoldiers of little import, cannon fodder really - White Walkers are the ones often seen on horses with white skin and blue eyes. Like the one Sam saw in the last episode of season 2. They are Captains and command and control companies of wights. - Lastly there is the one in charge, that too is something for a future episode.
