LOTR - Return of the King - Full Watch-Along

Comments

Good point. The area was being overrun and there were archers and they could not lose Frodo or everything is lost. Sometimes hard decisions have to be made.'

Great reaction! I've seen these movies countless times and I still cry at all those key moments. Minor point from the first movie just based on my opinion as I have not read the novels. Boromir holds Frodo back from going to Gandalf on the bridge because perhaps he was afraid that the bridge would collapse. They should have inserted a line of dialogue to that effect as a lot of reactors wonder the same thing.

If there was one thing I would have added to this movie from the book was that (paraphrasing) "..the hands of the King are the hands of a healer". They showed the terrible damage from Eowyn killing the Witch King and Aragorn tending to her but not why it brought her back.

Vryce

I agree and the best and deepest felt emotions, for me, are because they are truly real.

Now you should watch this for yourself Stef! I have no clue but it's extremely good! It talks about Howard Shores' music. https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLIlrdv4_CLJpb47uJfeop-wq8k1Tx1LO-

Thank You Silas!! I appreciate it and thank you so so much for the support πŸ₯Ή

Really enjoyed your journey through middle earth, I have been going through several other reactions of them recently, but yours is probably my favourite. Originally I intended to only stay for your LOTR reactions, but since I enjoyed them so much I'll probably stick around. Though I'm usually lurking in the shadows so you may not notice me much. :)

Osbeorn

ahhh, Thank you Shibby! πŸ₯Ή

Stef Solari

I appreciate it, Thank you so much πŸ₯Ή

Stef Solari

Thank you so much for watching this trilogy Stef, this is by far my favorite reaction. Watching you feel everything as it happened reminded me of the first time I saw this in theaters. I will never get tired of this series, especially this last movie!

Shibby75

Stef, that was so beautiful. It was everything I knew you would deliver, and more.

Keith Thorne

I bet I've seen TLOTR trilogy a hundred times and even more reactions. Yours is by far the most beautiful reaction. I haven't teared up watching ROTK in a long time but your reaction got me. Thank you!

Warrior Pitbull

Definitely agree, the Making of series is an expirence in itself, they basically take you along the ride from start to finish. it's a shame movies stopped doing these. Theyre on YouTube, split into parts so it'd be easy to react to I'd imagine.

HalfMayn

Ahhh I appreciate it!! Thank you for being so kind about it. I know this trilogy has so much information to grasp and it’s loved by many (now me haha I’ve already got my merch lined up to arrive 😭) so thank you πŸ₯Ή

Stef Solari

I swear, it doesn't matter how many times I watch this trilogy - it gets me in tears every day time lol I love seeing first time reactions to LOTR, and this was by far one of the best. Twas fun getting to watch alongside you! You caught on to a lot of things so quickly throughout the entire journey. That is honestly so cool. There IS a lot of ground to cover with these extended editions; especially in ROTK, and you kept up just fine. (Ngl, I've been in a rough patch as of late. Freakin life, right? lol This has helped me get thru the days a lot better.)

J.D.

You are most welcome! :) :) <3 As someone who watched this trilogy beyond count, I honestly don't mind a long story ^^ Should you ever want to share it, feel more than free to do so (in any way you see fit). "The ring is mine." - As far as LOTR reactions go: The vast majority says that Sam should push him in. You're one of the few who doesn't, AND you're also the only one who clearly doesn't need additional explanation when it comes to Frodo's suffering, and what he was going through. This says a lot about you, how judgmental you are, how quickly would you sacrifice someone, and, of course, your compassion. In fact, in case, you decide not to share your long story, this alone ought to say enough, and, to me at least, it may say a lot more ... :) <3

Prometheus

The big spider in cirith ungol was Shelob, daughter of Ungoliant, he was a dark creature in the ancient world, she ate valinor's two trees. The light of Valinor's trees shines in Galadriel's eyes, which can be seen in the movie :) Valinor=undying land, the ancient land of elves. Anyway, this was far far the best, the most beautiful reaction i ever seen, thank you! :)

Oh sweetie I send you a virtual covid safe hugge ^^ I have also cry like you, when I have read the book for the first time And if you want more lore about middle earth,I can only advise you to read it too and all the others from Tolkien thx for your reaction /kiss

One Eagle was in the 2nd film I believe, so he just brought his homies this time XD

This is no mere Ranger.

Wow this Is very very sweet of you. I appreciate it very much πŸ₯Ί I don’t think you know how much these types of comment mean to me and I wish I could go into depth for my reasoning but it may be a bit of a long story or much. Thank you β™₯️

Let me start by quoting @Ashtroga: "I would say yours is the most wonderful and lovely reaction of all the ones I have seen." @Stef Solari - I am afraid I agree only partially. To be more specific: As someone who has probably seen every YouTube and/or Patreon reaction of LOTR trilogy in existence, not only is this the best reaction I've seen, but ALSO one I would dare consider to be perfect. Moreover, as it simply CANNOT get better than this, my assessment is as follows; This is and will remain the best LOTR trilogy reaction, period, and, for me personally, it's unbeatable in all aspects. Therefore, I would rate this 20/10 (same rating I use for the LOTR trilogy). Hopefully, the reasons are self-explanatory, but even so, my main points; not only was the reaction incredibly emotional, but Stef was amazingly observant. I never thought it possible that one could dissect so many details (and come to the right conclusions), and at the same time be ... Forgive me, I am afraid there are no words to describe it properly, and do it justice ... If I were to try? It touched my heart in a way, I believed to be impossible. Thank you :) <3

Prometheus

Truly amazing aren't they? There is a reason why people say this is The best trilogy of all time and I am one of those people. I don't know how many times I have seen these movies but they always get me tearing up, there really is just something so special about them. I am so happy you took this journey and shared it with us, thank you, and I would say yours is the most wonderful and lovely reaction of all the ones I have seen. I remember when I finished reading Lotr for the first time and I didn't quite know what to do after that so I started reading again and it was equally enjoyable the second time (and the third and fourth and so on :D). If you want to have more background on some of the characters and the world itself I recommend reading Silmarillion, it goes through the creation of the world and tells much of story before the current age in the movies. It is very interesting but can be a bit hard to digest if you don't read Lotr first. I would also recommend watching the making of documentary of these movies, there is like 12-15 hours of it but in a strange way, and in my opinion, those are equally interesting and emotional journey of the film makers and how they created these wonderful movies. I bet you will be surprised about the many tricks they used to achieve what we see in the screen. Finally it would be interesting to see your reactions to Peter Jackson's earlier movies, Bad Taste, Meet the Feebles and Braindead. These are his first movies and considered cult classics and they are so much fun to watch, and also to see if you can pick up how the director of these movies would someday make this masterpiece trilogy :D

Ashtroga

Fantastic watch-along, thank you Stef for sharing. Really enjoyed the journey.

The orbs are called Palantirs and they were basically used to see and communicate one to another. In the FotR Gandalf tells Saruman it's dangerous to use because they don't know where they all are so anyone could be watching. In that scene Aragorn basically is taunting Sauron by showing him the blade and he makes Sauron think that Aragorn has the Ring. Also I hate Denethor as much as the next person but in his defense he also had a Palantir and Sauron was basically showing him visons of death and evil and drove him mad. The reason Frodo leaves is essentially the wound he took from being stabbed just never healing and the effects of the Ring remaining. Like a dark magic PTSD. Couple that with the fact he is going to live a long time because of the effects of the Ring he is in for a difficult life. By going to the undying lands with the elves he could finally find peace. Only Ring bearers were allowed to go which you'll be happy to hear actually means Sam went. Although it was for a short time Sam technically was a Ring bearer and it extended his life because of it. After Rosie dies Sam take a ship to the undying lands as well and is reunited with Frodo. Merry and Pippin are buried in Gondor next to Aragorn. Legolas takes Gimli with him to the undying lands. Making Gimili the only mortal that wasn't a Ring bearer to ever go there. Loved your reaction and glad you enjoyed it. I've seen the movies countless times and still tear up throughout the entire thing. Thank you for letting us join you in watching this. It's so special and one of my favorite movies to watch people react too.
