My new lighting set up

Dear member,

I am so excited by all the shoots coming up in the coming days and weeks, that I splashed out on some rather expensive new lighting equipment.

Specifically, I have just acquired the Hobolite Avant creator ac/dc kit, which is a not only a design statement - so it doesn’t need to be packed away when not in use - but also delivers excellent lighting performance and is highly portable (it also on a rechargeable battery).

It delivers 100W continuous light, which makes it a great for videos and comes with a range of creative props, as well as a soft box and high quality stand. Its portability means I can take it with me every time I’m not shooting at home and, as paid members know, there’s a lot of that coming up later this month (in fact since my latest post, there’s two more, including a trip to Germany to shoot with one of my most favourite models).

The Hobolite Avant has excellent reviews by videographers, as well as photographers, and will help me keep shooting through the winter months in my home studio.

In addition to the Hobolite, I have also invested in a Newer clamshell light reflector, which is also portable and works well on its own outdoors or in conjunction with studio lighting indoors.

As you can appreciate, these are major investments in lighting and you, as members, especially paid ones, will in due course benefit from more and better quality videos and images. It help me do more shoots in the autumn and winter months, when days are shorter and natural light becomes less abundantly available. As some of you may remember from last year, I complained a lot about lack of light when I was shooting with Vanessa and Martina last October in Germany and slowed down my rate of shoots in November and December last year.
