Yay my 76th FPI on Purpleport!
Added 2024-06-30 09:00:11 +0000 UTCMy 76th Front Page Image (FPI) award has finally arrived earlier this morning.
It took its time, as my 75th FPI was on 5th March 2024. That one featured Anka in my home studio. The 76th is also in my home studio and it’s my first with Ellie Mae.
It is one of the three that stood out for me from my latest shoot with Ellie - some of you may remember the post. So far I posted two of those three on Purpleport.
Still some way for me to go to reach the next milestone of 100 FPIs. It might sound a lot but quite a few models - including the talented Ellie herself - and photographers have several hundreds.
Photography technique: I am including a screenshot with all the technical details. The only light I used was natural light. I exposed on the brightest part of Ellie - which was the side of her arm where the light was falling- and under-exposed by 1/3 of a stop to add to the mood. I used my “old” Canon 6D Mark II and my favourite 85mm lens. The f-stop was set on f4, which I am increasingly using instead of f2.8. It still blurs the background but it also means that all of the models face is in focus - with f2.8 the depth of field is so narrow that it could mean only one eye is in focus!
The photo was retouched by Alexander Fess. I am also including the unedited version at the very end so you can see how Alex enhanced it with warmer tones. Arguably, it could also work well in monochrome. Check the last image - what do you think of that?
