Yay - my 75th FPI on Purpleport!
Added 2024-03-05 18:16:23 +0000 UTCDelighted to be awarded another FPI on Purpleport earlier today. This one has a special significance as it is my 75th. It is also my fifth with the talented Anka Zapala, who clearly deserves much of the credit for this image. Her looks, pose and outfit are simply exquisite.
The image was created in my home studio on 23rd June 2023 and it is the second from this set that has been awarded FPI status by Purpleport (screenshot of the previous one is also included in this post). With three FPIs at the exact same spot (the third was with Natalie, screenshot also imcluded), it can now be officially labelled ”the FPI spot”. It is also the 8th FPI in my home studio - which is a kind of proof that you don’t need to travel thousands of miles for one! Having said that, beautiful natural locations and soft natural light are recipes that I will never abandon as they help create beautiful images - I hasten to add that a good looking and talented model is, more often than not, essential to complete the composition.
I have also added a screenshot with the camera settings for this FPI - for the benefit of those interested in photography technique. There was clearly plenty of natural light on the 23rd June 2023 but it wasn’t golden hour. I placed Anka in a position that enabled me to avoid the sideboard in my framing and a couple of steps away from the wall, which darkened the background - it’s a white wall but does appear grey because of the distance. I think that adds to the composition- which I wanted it to be plain so that the entire focus is on the model. Which, of course, makes the looks and pose of the model the most important element of the image.
