Winter sun glam
Added 2024-02-29 09:00:04 +0000 UTCWell it’s officially the last day of winter today, so what better way to say goodbye to the winter blues than with my favourite model, Ashley Ashton, soaking up some winter sun by the pool at our villa in Tenerife? These images were shot around 3pm on the last day of our trip, which was the sunniest one. Ashley wasn’t keen being shot in strong sun but I insisted. I feel strong sun has its pluses - if you get it right it and you are next to water, it can be very glam. The idea is simple but powerful: blonde beauty on holiday.
Obviously with strong sun, the risk of over exposure is high, as is the risk of the model squinting when she faces the sun. It is also difficult to avoid shadows on the face or other parts of the body.
So, more than ever, I’d love to know what you think of the results! Have we succeeded? Once I have some comments from you guys, I’ll also let you know what Ashley thought of the images, after they came back from my retoucher, Alexander Fess.
