I finished and uploaded this month's Expanimation, and am currently rendering a low light bonus version (I like the way it picked up the highlights).
The other day, I saw a dead pixel on my monitor and thought I finally had an excuse to replace this old Acer G235h. It has a great screen for a low price, but buggy firmware. Unfortunately, the dead pixel was temporary, but I'm still thinking about replacing it in September. The firmware issue involves the controls, preventing switching from the DVI to VGA connection and occasionally remapping the buttons. The power button hasn't worked in years. When it did, it couldn't make up it's mind whether to be on/off or DVI/VGA. I've tried resetting it to factory configuration several times. Accessing certain parts of the settings menu will offset the function of the 5 buttons on the monitor (maybe that's why they never labelled them) and/or disable certain buttons.
I reached out to the manufacturer while it was still under warranty and they wanted me to pay for support, so I just made do using it with the DVI connection and resolved never to buy anything from Acer again. I think I'll go back to ViewSonic or maybe HP.
