All this makes me kinda sad knowing cass is going to wake up to all this on Here and on discord and probably get all stressed again I know everyone has an opinion but cass has feelings you know I feel so bad for her so please be nice just saying

A decent compromise. Will the movie reactions no longer be full length either? Or without video/audio in them?

better to rip off the band aid as a small channel and upset a few people than to do it when you're at half a million subs and upset a bunch. anyway, if you're changing up your tiers I vote for a homemade cookie tier! cause I like cookies! I'll be here for the long haul. at least up to half a million subs! :)

Don’t you already record full length reactions and then cut them down with video? Couldn’t you also post the full length reactions along with your edited ones at a tier level, seeing how you would already have the file?

Audio is also a gray area so it would have to be without that as well. So at that point I feel a lot people wouldn’t be interested in them; I’m thinking about maybe doing a livestream on here before the end of the month to talk through everything because it’s hard to try to type everything through and then you guy can ask questions and we can all have more of a back and forth convo and brainstorm ideas of how things will be from here😊

I am a little confused. Why stop the FULL LENGTH reactions WITHOUT the video part? I was fine with syncing it with my tv..as I have HBO. Even if I didn't..I have watched GoT so many times it wouldn't matter lol. I will keep my membership no matter what because I enjoy you..just wondering that.

For sure, I’m sure there is a certain amount of people that agree and would sync up even without audio/visual component. But I imagine a fair amount would find it a hassle. I saw a comment somewhere asking if I would do some episodes this way. Perhaps I could do a full length for season finales once in a while, you know? I am sure I could commit to doing full length upload for the GoT 8 finale as a bonus video. And do a surprise full length every once in a while for big episode reactions - that could be an idea for fun bonus video every once in a while.

I just read your comment in the Jeffrey Searcy thread. You mentioned that you wouldn't have time to do full length reactions for shows anymore. I suspected that it had something to do with this, and that is fair and understandable. I would have to disagree with your second point about full-length reactions not being desirable though. I know I much prefer the full length (especially after having sampled them for a couple of months now). I can only speak for myself though, so maybe I'm in the minority here.

Oh, I agree with you. No audio/visuals is definitely not unethical. I just am choosing not to do that because it is very time consuming to upload all those & I feel without the audio/visual components it won’t be desirable enough for a lot of people and therefore not worth the time it takes to upload whereas I can spend that time doing other exclusive content I’m more passionate about and bettering my YouTube channel. Sorry! Didn’t mean for it to sound like I thought that cutting out audio and visuals is still unethical.

Everyone is going to have an opinion, but at the end of the day, it's your decision! This is definitely not worth having anxiety or losing sleep over. I'm going to be 100% honest in sharing my thoughts. I don't understand the reasoning for eliminating full length reactions by having people sync-up their own copies of whatever show you were watching with their own. I don't see how providing a short 15-20 second clip of whatever show/movie you were watching to allow people to sync up, and then cutting off all audio/video from then on is unethical or against copyright. People would still have to purchase their own copies of the show/movie to sych up with you so creators would still get their cut. I mean if you decided to not do that because it would be to much of a pain for you , then that would be a different story but you are saying this as an ethical issue. How is it unethical posting a short snippet of film for people to sych with? Like I said to enjoy the show they would still have to purchase their own copy. The only thing people would see after the first 20 seconds would be you (or you and a friend/sister) on screen. That's no different than what you already do on Youtube. 10 minutes of edited reactions can already be rather inadequate for regular tv shows (just my opinion), but for 2 hour movies, even more so. Keep in mind there is no malice in my heart here, just honest constructive criticism of something I don't see the logic in if this is about ethics or copyright.

I will not be providing the movie visuals/audio during the livestream. The viewers will have to match up their own copy. I do understand that I’ll be losing a good amount of patrons.

Disappointing, there is no ethical dilemma with just posting your reaction to a piece of content. People can easily obtain full length content on their own to sync with you. Not trying to be a dick here but watching edited reactions early is not something a lot of people are going to be willing to pay for. It just doesn’t make much sense that you are going to be live-streaming full length reactions for movies but not doing them for tv shows. If this really is an ethical dilemma then you are still providing a full length reaction to copyrighted content with the movie watch parties.

It may be not be “illegal” but it is absolutely prosecutable if they are reproducing copyrighted content without permission. Bearing in mind that you’re subject to the laws of the land you live in.

Ultimately it is up to every individual to do what they feel is right, which I fully support. It is also important to me that other reactors who have decided to provide full reactions are not labeled as doing something illegal, which they aren't. For anyone interested in why Youtube has taken the approach they have I will include a brief history...

I’ll continue to support your channel and think it‘s great that you’re putting so much thought into how to honor the creators of the content you’re reacting to. Also, your recent Top 30 music post is a good sign of things to come! I hope the future allows for you to consume content that does not have as much of an exhaustive archive in order for you to quickly complete a series.

Hmm, I think you got talked out of a good initial decision with full length. I hope you consider bringing full length back some time. So much has to be cut from a 2 hour movie in a regular Youtube reaction. Livestreams are OK but always people are left out due to incompatible schedules. Whatever changes you make now or later, waiting until the first of the month to make any change is definitely the right thing to do.

I respect your decision, I hope it doesn't hurt your Patreon too much, however I am confused as to why you wouldn't do full length reactions, but with no audio or video. LOTS of people have HBO streaming, or in my case the DVD's, and love watching entire episodes with you. No moral dilemma if you don't play audio or video, I just don't understand.

Correct. There will no longer be any form of Full Length Reactions starting in October. My exclusive GoT reactions with Jackie will be edited as I would for YouTube.

Just want to clarify, so you're not even doing audio only versions of full reactions, have I got that right? Could you just do full length with just a counter or is that extremely difficult. What about the "Jackie" reactions? Would these be full length or early YT type cuts as your new ones would be? Might continue for the first month and see how it goes. Good luck anyway,

I think this is a great decision. With the elimination of the full reaction, I think this will seamlessly fix the issue of not having the image up while still getting the best parts of the edited reaction. I personally really like the idea of having early access a lot more than watching a full reaction, so this decision will make me very happy! :)
