A shocking FPI on Purpleport
Added 2023-06-17 11:52:03 +0000 UTCThis was on the front page of Purpleport as of last night midnight, it was very clearly created with AI. Several members made comments highlighting it. I went a step further and reported it to the Purpleport admin. I am now told that the member took down this image, it is certainly not on Purpleport’s front page any more.
Frankly, to award an FPI to such an image is a massive insult to those of us who have to travel hundreds if not thousands of miles to find a decent beach, and ensure we have a real model at the right time. It’s costly in both time and money. What‘s the point of photography anyway?
Personally I would have gone a step further and cancelled this alleged photographer’s membership. It is fraudulent to post an AI created image and claim it is a photo.
I’m shocked also so many people were fooled by it, including the elves and site administrators who awarded it the FPI.

I’m shocked the person who created this is still on purpleport- which is after all a photographers and models site! as if this is just a minor indiscretion. This is downright attempt to defraud imho.

I can see AI being super cool to help with composition and editing but when it creates a whole image for you then it crosses a line. In the very near future I can see the line between photography and AI generated images becoming more and more blurred
