As bernkastel said the timeline is completely out of wack, even just this first season the races happen over multiple years but we see them as if their within a few months at most. As for the rudolf and oguri question i believe they had retired from the twinkle series which is what most of the cast is running in, and is now running the dream trophy series which is different

2025-08-01 16:26:50 +0000 UTCFrom what I can dig up. It isn’t a prequel but more of just the history of Oguri Cap and well…Oguri Cap being the main character for it haha. Apparently it’s a spin off. Which I guess makes sense to also just have her in the universe of Umamusume. Edit: you can sort of say they’re two different Oguri Caps in a way. And also there’s no real timeline in Umamusume
