If you've been wondering, The Apothecary Diaries is a Light Novel series. The Light Novel series has 2 manga adaptations. Nekokurage manga version is the one closely being adapted to the animé, while Kurata Minoji version is closer to the Light Novel (including the designs), the Kurata Minoji version is slower. However, the version of the manga that the animé isn't based on is more advanced than the one being adapted to the anime. The animé adaptation is catching up relatively quick to the manga it's based on as even what would be the supposed ending for Season 2 has not even been adapted yet to the manga (which is the volume 4 of the Light Novel), so I'm supposing the animé will advance further than the Nekokurage manga. There are currently 15 light novels. 13 fully translated to English, and 1 almost done for translation and is scheduled for release in May 30, 2025. Each season of The Apothecary Diaries is worth 2 Light novels, so after this season, there would still be 5 more seasons in total ready for adaptation now.
