Well its not wonder that in that Time Period only Men were allowed for most of those Jobs, like Doctors, Soldiers etc since Women were seen as weak, frail and as a "convenient" tool to make as many Children as possible and who have to do all the Housework while the Men care about the Income, Safety etc of the Household. While in most cases Women in various Countrys still did these Jobs, it was mostly because the Burecraucy wasnt so well done like nowadays and it was often ignored, unless it came to such high Positions like in a Palace.. they could only get away with it when they close a Eye for them, like Jinshi is doing and even has the Emperors Permission. All because Women had a lower Position in Society up until a bit over 100 years ago.
