Delays
Added 2017-11-21 06:48:44 +0000 UTCHey everyone.
Sorry for the delays on the next CYOA page. As I said before in earlier posts, I've really been feeling it less and less these days for comics. Every time it comes that I have to start a new page, I just get either overwhelmed with art block, or I lose the drive altogether.
I thought doing a comic format would make it easier to do the CYOA entries, seeing as I'd have more room to work with to tell the story; but trying to fit the equivalent of several pages worth of dialogue and visuals into one page only served to make things harder. It seems that I would've had a much easier time sticking with single images.
Now, I still have every intention of continuing this current series to completion, and in the comic format. I will endure it! But this will surely be the last series done as a comic; possibly the last CYOA altogether, since I found I enjoy doing pinups and random pieces more. I may scrap the CYOA stories completely in favor of a second Barr's Mares entry, or something else that is patron-voted; possibly a "bad ending" kind of thing involving existing characters, to add some variety to just having pinups all the time.
I like telling stories, and I still want to do comics in some form or another, but I definitely feel like I need to have complete control of the narrative and pacing. I honestly feel somewhat trapped by the nature of the CYOA concept. It feels like I am forced to stay with strict confines, and have to tell a certain story all within one page. It's very restricting and exhausting.
If I do comics in the future, they'll definitely feel more like traditional comics; none of this awkward pacing and trying to fit a lot of story into a small space. Rather than trying to tell a large story in one page, I'd follow a more traditional format and make each page feel like a simple smaller piece of the bigger whole.
Again, sorry it's taken me so long to get you guys anything for this current page. I have the sketch started, so there's at least that; I've got a starting point that I can work from. But, once this series is finished, it'll be the last.
Thank you all for understanding.

It's good to see you moving in a different direction. Trying to give your creative best with something that doesn't get your creative juices flowing can really suck, and i'm glad to see you aren't trying to continue forcing that. The pinups have always been fantastic, and i'm excited to see where the 'bad end' stuff goes, because it sounds a-mei-zing. Keep bein' you and keep bein' awesome B!

2017-11-22 12:45:53 +0000 UTCSame here. i can see a simple traditional R34 series of pieces replacing the CYOA series. As for doing comics again, they'd be on my own time, much like the random pieces you all have seen me make occasionally; no recorded for timelapses, since they're sporadic, not voted on, just simple random comic ideas I come up with, or me just randomly adding to a single story, and maybe getting into the groove of making a regular webcomic.
