Added 2019-03-04 18:38:50 +0000 UTCRecently I submitted a drawings with a different "softer" shading style. Please look at the two examples below, and pay attention just to the shading. You'll see in example A the shading and highlight lines are hard lines. In example B, they are soft smoothed lines.
I personally think that the style B looks better. However. that style takes much more time and effort than style A. My question in Poll 2 is, which type of style do you want to see most often?

2019-03-05 22:11:13 +0000 UTCI like Style B a little bit better but I also think Style A works better in some situations, like the mannequin image, so I think it's good just to use your best judgement. However, for some of the more whimsical one-off pics, Style A would probably be good just to get it out more quickly. Hope that helps some!
