You (I) wanted to turn in my (your) best work on assignments. Spent a few ‘all-nighters’ trying not to turn in work that I thought could be better. 🤯

I'm so glad you had such a positive experience for the short time you were there! it's really unfortunate that the costs of such an education are so prohibitive. too many people are denied access.

Yes, ACCD in Pasadena was (is still?) VERY! expensive. I was hoping to get a scholarship based on submitting my first and second term work. (Needed the money to continue to study there). The problem was not having enough ‘advanced’ work during the first two terms I was attending to have a high level of work to submit. . I was also working part-time, and during our orientation (after being accepted based in my junior college portfolio) it was suggested that we NOT work because of the amount of the work load that would be required in each of our classes. I do feel I acquired a lot of very helpful information during my (short time) at ACCD…..I knew I didn’t have enough high-level work when I submitted my work (with the hope of securing scholarship funds). My brief time at ACCD was one of the happiest times of my life. I was amazed at the talent/skills some of the beginning student’s possessed ! This was natural artistic talent.

The hand does, the mind learns. It's my own mantra to find my own voice. It's also translated as "thy then think". It's an invitation to not overthink, to play what we instinctively like, and then get a sense of it.

Sorry I missed this time.

To add to the extremely long list of recommendations - anime series called Bleach is great!
