What's coming up // March 2025

Spring is finally here! It feels like a season for a fresh start - I just moved into my new studio space, and I'm so excited to get into the flow of working here! Here's what you can expect from me this month:

 This month's tutorial is going to be on drawing face planes! This has been requested many times, and I have a lot to share about how you can draw the 3-dimensional volumes of the head using the Asaro Head as a reference. I'm editing the tutorial right now - you can expect to see it posted before the end of the week!

My latest tutorial is always available to Spark members, which means you can get it for just $5! After that, it goes to the backlog - which means you need to be a Flame member to access it. Spring always inspires me, and I'm definitely excited to create some spring-themed art this month. Flowers, birds, fresh green leaves - I can't wait to get started! I also want to create some ideas for an animal-themed painting. This is something I've been wanting to do for months but got put on the backburner because I had to focus on moving to a new studio space! Now that I'm settled into my new spot, I'm ready to start generating some ideas ✨

I'll be posting WIP versions of all my drawings, from first sketch to final piece. I'll also be recording my process, so you can expect a process video from me! I'll be sure to include information about how I created the drawing, from tools to creative struggles.

This month, we are studying dense foliage together! A great way to celebrate spring and also practice our ability to capture complex detail.

You'll get reference images, inspiration, tips, and resources to help you on your way. Check out the challenge here! And if you're participating, don't forget to post your progress in the Discord server!

I'll be participating in the challenge as well, and recording my process so you can watch how I created it. I'll also be making a 20-25 minute video in which I dicuss my process, take a look at the art that you created, and discuss common mistakes. That way, you'll be prepared if you want to draw leaves and foliage in the future!
