RESOURCE // statue studies

Here's a little resource video about this month’s challenge! In this video, I do a quick review of the artwork posted in the discord, walk you through my process for creating the artwork for this challenge, and discuss common mistakes and tips for tackling studies like these in the future!

I hope you find it helpful ❤ And thank you to everyone who participated in this challenge! If you haven't posted yours yet, head on over to the monthly-challenges channel in the discord server and share your art with us!

I don't, but as soon as I have something down, I do try to make a tutorial about it at some point down the line! maybe it's time for a smudge tool tutorial..

Great video, per usual 😊 I love getting the insights into your process and also the extra explanations on how you added three-dimensionality and used the smudge tool. Do you keep a little cheat sheet for the techniques you’ve discovered?

I'm so glad you enjoy the videos Inês! I feel like these little challenge resource videos give a really honest insight into my process, so it's always important for me to mention my inspirations. Thanks for your kind words!

haha i have to address my patrons accordingly! looking forward to seeing yours!

hey eeby! there absolutely is - you can just feather your selection once you've made it! here's a little mini-tutorial on how to do it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jRIlgy_PgbE

Is there a feather lasso equivalent in procreate, i know that gradients also don't work the same in procreate and Id love to be able to draw like you but I cant seem to use all the same methods as you do due to software limitations so was wondering if there are work around or recommendations to get a similar effect.

I'm always hyped for the release of you resource videos Lois! For me you have some kind of "magic touch" because when I see them, it seems that you always manage to have a fresh approach to painting in general and in the way you analyse some other references or artist's works! Another thing that I really enjoy is the fact that you're not afraid to talk about other artists and even show that you learn from them- that's really something that I apreciate a lot. And also: the results are super incredible, I love to actually be able to see your improvement in other painting approaches and techniques!
