RESOURCE // smoke & fire

Here's a little resource video about this month’s challenge! In this video, I do a quick review of the artwork posted in the discord, walk you through my process for creating the artwork for this challenge, and discuss common mistakes and tips for tackling studies like these in the future!

I hope you find it helpful ❤ And thank you to everyone who participated in this challenge! If you haven't posted yours yet, head on over to the monthly-challenges channel in the discord server and share your art with us!

RESOURCE // smoke & fire

I'm so happy to hear that it arrived just in time! I hope you enjoy the calendar :)

We’ve had some fires ( sadly…) throughout Colorado over the years. We are once again living just below and east of the ‘front range’ foothills. While biking on the local trails , I’ve captured images of some of these unfortunate events. You’ve captured the energy in both the billowing clouds of smoke and flames! Quite sad to see these fires. Very ominous to see the smoke clouds at such high elevations.

hey ines! thanks so much for your kind message, I'm so glad you enjoyed it! sometimes I record these videos a little earlier in the month because of holidays (in this case, christmas hoidays) so i miss some of the final posts. but I'm happy to take a look at yours and give some more specific feedback! just send me an email to loishh@gmail.com with the artwork and i'll do my best to get back to you with some pointers!

Looking forward to these! I received your 2025 calendar yesterday! It’s on the wall in my studio already just in time for the New Year! Lots of large/beautiful images (for inspiration💙👍🏻) this coming year❗️Thank 🫵🏻 Loish👍🏻 (I love the page of stickers also😌)

Thank you so much for this tutorial Loish! It is very beautiful as always ☺️ it also was very refreshing to see that I'm not the only one with those same "problems" with the blending tool, I too didn't use it exactly for the same reason and I always thought that I did it wrong! I only have one question regarding this tutorial: do you often see the final takes of the challenge? I ask this, because I would really love if you could have the time to see mine 🥹 anyways, I wish you a good entry in ti's new year, and also lots of rest and inspiration for new works and challenges! ❤️
