It's time for this month's tutorial, which is on stylizing anatomy! In many ways it also touches on the topic of stylization in general, so I think this is a useful video for anyone who is cultivating their style - but especially for those of you who are trying to figure out how to get away from realism when drawing characters and figures!
There are a bunch of tutorials I've made which form excellent companions with this one. Here's a list:
Warmups & exercises for improving your skills: This is a tutorial I mention quite a lot in this video, because it talks about the basic principle behind making focused studies. This is a great technique for training yourself to stylize and exaggerate your art!
Constructing a pose: This one does a deeper dive into the shapes I use to construct a pose and also discusses rhythm, gesture, and other important principles for drawing poses.
Overlapping shapes & foreshortening: This one talks about how I overlap shapes to create depth and 3-dimensionality in my art.
Drawing different body types: This one takes the principle of changing the size and shape of the basic construction shapes to create different types of bodies.
The brush I used was the MaCaLabs HB pencil brush: http://cbr.sh/fg8up?ref=loish
As always, here is the cheat sheet with essential information from the tutorial, which you can also find attached to this post as a PDF file with clickable links:

I hope you enjoy this one! Feel free to share any future tutorial suggestions in the #tutorial-suggestions channel in the discord server (If you don't know how to join, just follow the steps outlined here) or leave them in a comment below! Thanks so much ❤
