TUTORIAL // creating an artistic routine

It's time for the August tutorial! This one is on creating an artistic routine. This is something I talk about quite a lot in a few of my other tutorials, like imposter syndrome for artists and a roadmap for artistic growth. This tutorial is about which steps you can take to build a routine that matches with your own schedule, artistic goals, and interests! It's intended for those of you who want to get a routine going, but aren't sure where to start. It might also be helpful for those of you who want to tweak and adjust your routine to better fit your goals!

There are a couple of helpful resources that go along with this tutorial. First of all, I mention a worksheet that can help you set goals that align with your interests and artistic strengths. You can find that as an attachment to this post and it's called Setting_goals_worksheet.pdf. As mentioned in the tutorial, this is completely optional - only use it if you think it will help you!

Another helpful PDF is the resource list. It basically provides you with a list of tutorials and resources here on the Patreon that go hand-in-hand with specific artistic practices. The idea is that you first formulate which artistic practices you want to implement into your routine, and then consult the list to see if there's anything helpful there. It can also be a helpful way to navigate all of the tutorials here - there are a lot so it can be challenging!

As always, here is a cheat sheet with the most important info from the tutorial! You can also find it as a PDF below.

I hope you find this helpful! ❤

I'm so happy to hear that! we really forget to check our improvements from time to time as artists - always looking forward but not looking back at how far we came. thanks for your kind words, I'm glad you're enjoying the tutorials!

Went to my really old Deviant art account hahahaha, and watched the whole gallery; then went to my IG now...and I didn't noticed that I needed to do that, the growth is huuuuuge. Almost cried hahaha, thank you for the reminder. <3 I'm mostly a traditional artist, but wanted to say that I'm learning a lot from your tutorials. Thanks!
