TUTORIAL // simple tricks for urban speedpainting
Added 2023-05-08 14:23:32 +0000 UTCIt’s time for this month’s tutorial! Some of you requested a tutorial on drawing cityscapes, architecture and urban environments. So I put together this resource, which breaks down the process of drawing an urban speedpaint into 4 basic steps, to avoid overwhelm and make the process more simple and intuitive! The process is in photoshop, but it can be identically replicated in procreate, because I don’t use the gradient tool.
I discuss my procreate process a bit in this tutorial, but if you want to see a collection of procreate timpelapses showing similar subject matter, you can find that here!

I really learned a lot about using layers more effectively, locking and adjusting as I went, using the blur to simulate gradients in procreate, and keeping things less uniform in general. There were a lot of things you’ve covered in other tutorials that finally clicked for me as I worked my way through this one. You rock! Thanks again.

I used to post two videos each time, one with and without, but i decided to just post them with subtitles for now. you can watch the vimeo version here - https://www.patreon.com/posts/update-subtitled-72727898 (be sure to type in the password at the top) - and turn off the subtitles in the vimeo player! sorry about that, the patreon player has really limited functionality.

I feel like they're in your default video. I don't know how to hide them as they sometimes distract me from what you are doing.
