EARLY ACCESS // whisper
Added 2022-02-16 10:29:16 +0000 UTCHere’s a new digital painting that I created pretty spontaneously! I was working on other stuff and had a sudden idea for a sketch, so I started sketching it out on my laptop with my intuos pro. It’s been a long time since I drew with a USB tablet instead of a screen tablet, but I think it made the sketch a bit looser which was a good thing! At first I went with a purple ‘swirl’, but I was kind of struggling with it. I showed it to Arjen and he said that he liked the vulnerability of the girl against the dark background, and suggested changing the color of the swirl to enhance that more. So I made it more transparent and I felt like that worked a lot better! So here’s the final result.
It’s typical of me that I have literally 7 WIPs lying around to finish but then just start on a totally new painting on a whim :’) I’m glad that I have more room in my schedule to randomly draw what comes up, though! Hope you like this one!

2022-02-22 17:19:03 +0000 UTCthat's relatable, I have 6 wips lying around that I just can't bring myself to finish haha. for me it helps to just schedule ahead of time when i will be finishing paintings, and i just let myself decide which painting i'll finish when the day comes - as long as i'm working on something. idk if that helps but you're definitely not alone in wanting to skip the most boring part, haha! i'm going to put together a rendering tutorial today, maybe that will inspire and motivate you to finish off some of your paintings!

I have a really bad habbit of leaving my a lot of my WIPs unfinished and having a lot of ideas that i want to draw but when i DO draw them i leave them as WIPs. Basically i never finish my artwork. Its a cycle of my creative process, is there a way break it and stay consitant on what I draw?

Though the purple version looked nice already, your final piece is so perfectly balanced, and the transparency adds a lot of poetry to the image. Love it! Good to know you too happen to add yourself extra work when you are overloaded already 😅
