Pokémon: My Titles Know No Limits! [584]
Added 2025-09-23 14:15:22 +0000 UTCAugust opened the long-neglected system interface, unmuted the previously silenced notifications, and immediately jolted from a sudden bombardment of system alerts ringing in his ears.
Then he noticed the overwhelming flood of unread messages on the interface.
Had he really overlooked this many system rewards? He couldn't even count them all.
But since he'd decided to claim everything, August began carefully checking each message one by one.
The first was a reward he hadn’t claimed from a while back.
[Your Hisui Summer Camp attracted the attention of the Great Sinnoh Deity. The deity thoroughly enjoyed such lively festivities, earning you the title ‘I Like This!’]
[Please select your reward]:
[1. Mystery Reward]
[2. Mystery Reward]
[3. Mystery Reward]
The text hadn't changed much—only the font color was now suspiciously red.
August stared warily at the three options glowing in ominous red, unease creeping into his heart. But at the same time, his rebellious streak flared up.
Did the system think he’d scare that easily?!
I choose Option 1!
August braced himself, fully expecting to be instantly teleported face-to-face with that smug llama again. But instead, a crisp system notification chimed gently in his ear:
[Congratulations, you received: Zygarde Cells ×99]
August: “?”
The situation differed from what he'd mentally prepared for.
He’d expected to be sent directly to face Arceus—but now he felt oddly let down.
Still, he quickly turned his attention toward the new reward.
“[Zygarde Cells ×99]…?”
If he recalled correctly, he’d previously captured a Zygarde Core back in Kalos.
He glanced meaningfully at Gengar. Gengar instantly understood August’s intent and reached into its stomach, rummaging around until it retrieved a Master Ball.
The Master Ball opened—
A small, slime-like Zygarde Core appeared in August’s palm. The green blob had only a single eye, with a faint blue glow at its core.
As a core, it had its own independent consciousness. August had captured it after securing both Yveltal and Xerneas.
Upon seeing August, the Zygarde Core wriggled slightly in his palm, looking nothing at all like the legendary guardian equal to Yveltal and Xerneas.
Just as August prepared to claim the reward and restore Zygarde to its full form, Mew—perched atop August’s head—spotted the slime-like Zygarde Core. With gleaming eyes, Mew leaped down, snatched it from August’s palm, and happily began stretching and kneading it like playdough.
“Mew, stop messing around.”
Watching Zygarde stretched and squished relentlessly in Mew’s paws, August called out gently, motioning for Mew to return it.
Instead, Mew flew deliberately higher, just out of reach, sticking its tongue out teasingly:
“Bleh-bleh-bleh~!”
August: “?”
Has this little guy been overeating popcorn lately, getting more and more cocky?
It seemed Mew needed a small lesson.
System, claim 9 Zygarde Cells.
Instantly, nine glowing green cells appeared in August’s palm, then rapidly shot upwards, drawn irresistibly toward Mew and the Core.
Before Mew could react, the cells merged seamlessly with the Core in its paws.
Whoosh!
The small slime rapidly expanded, shifting shape and turning into a sleek black canine with a green scarf around its neck.
Zygarde 10% Forme.
“Mew?!”
At first startled by the Core suddenly transforming into a dog-like Pokémon, Mew quickly realized that despite looking tough, Zygarde was actually still quite weak.
Eyes gleaming mischievously, Mew landed atop Zygarde’s back, gripping its green scarf and gleefully riding it around the training ground.
Unable to resist Mew’s bullying in its current form, 10% Zygarde yielded helplessly, sprinting madly around the field as Mew giggled joyfully on its back.
August watched with black lines streaking down his face.
However, this form of Zygarde was inherently unstable. Soon, it reached its critical limit, collapsing into scattered cells and sending an unprepared Mew sprawling onto its back.
“Mew…”
As Mew sat dazed on the ground, August spoke again:
System, claim 40 more Zygarde Cells.
Another batch of cells appeared, rushing toward the scattered fragments.
Under Mew’s astonished gaze, the cells combined, transforming Zygarde into its serpentine 50% Forme, with five fan-like frills unfolding dramatically behind its body.
“Mew!?”
Mew stared in shock.
At this stage, Zygarde’s strength was now on par with Mew—but August wasn’t done yet.
He immediately claimed the remaining cells in one go.
With more cells merging, Zygarde inflated dramatically, quickly taking shape as a towering, five-meter-tall humanoid giant. Four ribbon-like appendages flowed from its shoulders, and its body was patterned with futuristic, glowing markings.
Complete Forme Zygarde.
Mew now gaped, dumbstruck.
Just moments ago, Zygarde had been a tiny green blob in its paws!
It only snapped out of shock when Zygarde reached down to grab it, trying desperately to dodge.
But it was far too late.
Faced with the overwhelming power that surpassed even Xerneas and Yveltal, Mew struggled helplessly as Zygarde lifted it effortlessly like picking up a chick.
Mew flailed and punched at Zygarde’s grasp futilely, utterly ineffective as Zygarde calmly brought it back to August.
Accepting Mew from Zygarde’s grip, August smiled gently:
“Weren’t you acting cocky just now?”
Mew shook its head frantically, eyes big and pleading innocence.
But August mercilessly flicked Mew’s forehead. Only after seeing Mew pitifully rub its head did he finally relent, placing it back atop his own head.
Then he studied Zygarde carefully.
The aura emanating from Zygarde was incredibly powerful. In August’s eyes, it fully lived up to its title as Kalos’s guardian, clearly possessing the strength to stop both Yveltal and Xerneas if needed.
August tentatively reached out with telepathy to Zygarde.
He soon discovered Zygarde’s mind was exceedingly complex.
Formed by the union of numerous cells, each commanded by a Core, it possessed not just a single consciousness but multiple perspectives.
Still, August managed to glean Zygarde’s basic thoughts:
Firstly, since August had subdued Yveltal and Xerneas—solving the ecological disaster potentially caused by their conflict—Zygarde willingly chose to follow him.
But then August considered further…
If he had received these Zygarde cells before traveling to Kalos, wouldn’t he have been able to easily deal with Yveltal using Zygarde directly?
Wouldn’t that have saved him from needing to disguise himself as Giovanni, infiltrate Team Flare, and painstakingly fight Yveltal using Deoxys?!
Then that meant…
…I was the clown all along?
As soon as that thought entered his head, August violently shook it away. Nonsense! This is clearly that llama’s conspiracy!
She must’ve given me these cells only after I solved everything with Team Flare and Yveltal. Definitely.
August shook his head so vigorously that Mew nearly became dizzy, quickly hopping down to perch on his shoulder instead.
August quickly checked the next reward.
[You successfully arrested Giovanni, earning the title ‘Agent of Justice’]
This was the title earned from capturing Giovanni. The only difference from when he’d first seen it was that the question mark previously appended to the title was now gone.
“As expected, my heroic actions have fully proven that I truly am a righteous Agent of Justice.” August suddenly felt the llama did have a little good sense after all.
Just a tiny bit, though.

Yet again, three blind boxes.
“I hate blind boxes…” August grumbled out loud—but still decisively made a choice.
“I chose option 1 last time, so this time I’ll pick 2.”
As he confirmed his selection, the system chimed again in his ears.
[Congratulations, you’ve received: Earth Plate]
Capturing Giovanni and receiving the [Earth Plate]—perfectly logical.
In a flash of light, a brownish [Earth Plate] appeared in his hands. Remembering Zygarde was Dragon/Ground-type, August immediately handed the plate to Zygarde.
At August’s gesture, Zygarde carefully activated the [Earth Plate].
Instantly, August saw Zygarde glow intensely, and the entire training ground began trembling beneath his feet.
He hurriedly retrieved the [Earth Plate] from Zygarde, genuinely worried the giant might accidentally demolish their entire training facility with its overwhelming power.
Just as August reclaimed the [Earth Plate]—
Gary burst into the training ground, panicked and shouting:
“August, did you feel the earthquake just now—!”
He froze mid-sentence, eyes widening as he spotted the towering giant beside August.
“What Pokémon is that?! It looks so incredibly cool!”
Zygarde was the type of Pokémon that instantly grabbed your attention, unforgettable at first sight.
Gary’s first thought was awe at how cool it looked; his second was despair—wondering when exactly August had captured yet another legendary Pokémon…
Before, Gary had still been able to comfort himself by thinking that while his Suicune wasn’t particularly strong, it was at least graceful and majestic enough to compete with August’s Pokémon in looks alone.
But now…
Looking at Zygarde standing silently beside August like a giant guardian, Gary suddenly felt his Suicune wasn’t all that cool anymore.
Hearing Gary’s words, August actually agreed wholeheartedly for once: “Yeah, it really is cool!”
Then August gave Zygarde a signal, motioning for it to demonstrate its strength. Understanding August's intent, Zygarde activated its power immediately.
Its entire body instantly dissolved into countless green particles.
The green particles surged forward in a wave across the ground, crashing violently into one of the training targets.
Boom!
The reinforced-alloy target instantly shattered, exploding into pieces as Zygarde’s body rapidly reformed, landing smoothly at the spot where the target had stood just moments ago.
“What was that move!?” Gary shouted in shock.
“[Thousand Waves]…a move exclusive to Zygarde!” August answered proudly.
Gary felt envy bloom deep within him.
But as envy filled his heart, he suddenly realized something. He narrowed his eyes suspiciously at August:
“Wait—August, that earthquake just now…wasn’t caused by you, was it?”
“Ahem.” August’s expression froze awkwardly as he coughed lightly. “Was there an earthquake just now?”
Seeing August’s stiff expression, Gary immediately understood everything.
“...”
And here he’d been thinking Rose had started some secret scheme. He’d rushed in here to report to August, even wondering if he should investigate the matter further.
But who’d have thought…the earthquake was entirely August’s fault.
After sending away a thoroughly speechless Gary, August returned Zygarde to its Poké Ball and resumed checking the remaining lottery rewards.
[You successfully thwarted Team Flare’s conspiracy and arrested Lysandre, unlocking the title: ‘He Saved Kalos’]
Looking at this title, August suddenly began to wonder if perhaps he’d misunderstood Arceus all along.
Arceus hadn’t really done anything especially terrible to him, had she?
And now she was even praising him!

[3. Mystery Reward]
Once again, three blind-box rewards. According to the previous pattern, this time he should pick the third one.
But…
I pick 1.
August decisively declared in his mind.
He was simply the type who disliked following conventional logic!
There was no way to tell if that llama was waiting to trap him.
August would never let down his guard just because someone praised him a little.
This was wisdom he'd accumulated over many years as a Ranger and International Police officer.
Meanwhile, at that exact moment…
In the living room, Cogita—who had been holding Eevee and listening patiently to Iono recounting amusing stories from her livestream—suddenly wore a profoundly speechless expression.
“Cogita-san, what’s wrong?” Iono asked curiously. “Did something happen?”
Cogita shook her head, smiling gently. “Nothing important.”
It was merely a certain someone's paranoid delusions making her feel completely exasperated.
She gently stroked Eevee’s head.
“Vee!” Eevee made a delighted noise, happily nuzzling Cogita’s palm.
Iono eagerly reached out to pet Eevee too, but Eevee quickly darted into Iono’s sleeve, throwing her into sudden chaos.
Just as Iono was panicking and trying to catch Eevee, another system notification echoed clearly in August’s ears.
