I have the deepest respect for you for daring to do this in public, especially with your Jewish roots and the story of your grandfather and his family (which was also your family), who all didn't make it. There is history that absolutely should never be forgotten and this is such a part of history. I was in high school when this movie came out. I don't know if it's still done today, but my school took all the students to the local cinema to show this film. And although I live in Europe and have learned more of the history of the 2nd world war and Nazi Germany (Germany is my neighbor country) than the countries outside Europe, this film has never left my mind from the first second and all my later years. I have never understood how people can do this to each other. Out of pure hatred. This is one of those films that should actually be mandatory in schools, because now more than 80 years later it is obvious that humanity always learns one thing from history. That they don't learn from history and thatβs tragic. I cried with you on this one and once again a lot of respect for you doing this. And never ever apologize for your feeling and emotions. They are the real you and make your reactions so real and beautiful. And of course this one was hard for you. Everyone will understand that.
