Sandbox or Ordinary Visual Novel

Today's topic is whether you want the game to be a sandbox or not.
My initial plan when I started making this game was for it to be a kinetic novel throughout the prologue and then transition into a sandbox after the prologue.
But more recently I've started to lean more towards the game continuing as a choice-based VN. I've heard a bunch of people hating on the sandbox idea. In contrast, there have also been a lot of people who would prefer the game to become a sandbox. Now I feel like I'm stuck at a crossroad.
So now I want the opinion of you my trusty Patreons! How would you like this game to develop?
Keep in mind that this poll will not outright make the decision, but it will heavily influence it.

Potential sandbox was the biggest factor for me subscribing, But while sandbox is strongly preferred it depends on the type of sandbox implemented. If it has a map of all of the areas with fast travel and repeatable scenes that is the good kind. Adding in pointless grinds though isn't good.

2024-04-29 04:57:53 +0000 UTCTo be honest you could add some visual novel and then a sandbox and if player wants to progress they can do a visual novel to make the story more interesting I do love sandbox to go around talking to people and explore but either one fine the visual novel would have a interesting story and which ever one the community picks I'll stay by with the game as it progress and become a good game so whatever you do with this game cibbon I know it would be a great one and many will love
