So I always thought about when Henry says that sometimes you just need to look at things from a different perspective, and I always wondered, what would that look like for Piet mentoring Tim, and I'm sort of not sure. Because in this scene Thea calls him out for being impatient with Tim and wanting to dump his problems on someone else when things get too hard, and is told Tim is like an oyster. But I'm still curious how he can take that advice. Like I'm trying to imagine a scene where Piet does that but doesn't go back on the whole mentor thing entirely. I think I can think of one though. Basically imagine someone tells Piet that he never really thinks of how other people are feeling, so he does that with everyone he knows and decides to work through all that. So he does a Will Graham empathizing with a serial killer bit where he runs through each encounter he's had with Tim as though it was him being talked to, and decides that the homesickness comment is annoying, and Piet as Tim comes to the conclusion that Piet just doesn't get it and it's awful. Then he tries to think through what he'd tell Piet if he was Tim. He then decides to tell Tim all that stuff in order to clear the air around them, that he's annoying and hasn't been considering Tim's feelings, and has been lecturing and judging him since the moment they met, and hasn't done anything to try and meet him in the middle, but he's hoping they can fix this.

The Urge

Oof, this is not going to be an easy conversation
