PLEASE watch The Goonies next. It is a perennial return movie for me, I’ve seen it at least 20 times, and I’m hoping y’all haven’t seen it yet, because fresh eyes on a classic like that would be an AWESOME video.

2025-01-01 00:56:32 +0000 UTCSo I watched this film waaaaay too young, probably about 4, and it terrified me! My older brother played on this and would say I had gremlins under my bed. I thought as you'd reacted to this film I should give it a go (plus I'm 37 now....) and though I can still see why it scared me I think watching it with you guys has healed a bit of my inner child.

When you do, please watch 'Key & Peele - "Gremlins 2" Brainstorm - Uncensored' on YouTube as a part of the reaction after the movie. It's under 5 minutes and it's hilarious.

The director has made some of the most underrated, and entertaining films from the 1980s, and 90s. Everything from horror, to dark comedies, to even family films. Check out Piranha, The Howling, Explorers, Innerspace, The Burbs, The Second Civil War, Small Soldiers, and Looney Tunes: Back in Action. All good movies. Gremlins is such a great film that starts off as a cheery Christmas movie, than goes off the rails in the second half. So much fun. So many good cast members. Zack Gallian was great as the lead, and it’s a shame he didn’t have much success outside of this. Phoebe Cates is best known for her role in Fast Times at Ridgemount High. Dick Miller you might remember as the gun shop owner from the first Terminator film. He’s done a ton of work and has appeared in every Joe Dante movie. Judge Rinehold is best known for his work in Beverly Hills Cop movies. Johnathan Banks also you might remember from Better Caul Saul. Then there’s Corey Feldman who appeared in a bunch of great films from the 80s such as Friday the 13th Part 4, The Goonies, Stand By Me, The Lost Boys, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Also you gotta check out the sequel Gremlins 2: The New Batch, it’s even zanier, and funnier then the first one, and severely underrated.
