There is nothing wrong with general audience films with comedy films with things that are not avant-garde. Mixing up sophistication and seriousness with quality leads you down a pointlessly pretentious path. I had plenty of film professors who loved films like mean Girls Avatar and RoboCop. These all have a place and value in the film scape
