You didn't specifically ask for advice. As someone who has suffered through depression feelings and giving up thoughts AND made it to the other side after working on it for a long while -- I feel compelled to share wisdom in case it helps people. The three most valuable things for me were 1) Feelings are a valid natural part of being human. They might feel like forever, but are not forever. 2) Feelings and healing journey is not linear. Don't take any "getting worse" days to mean you're failing. It's not a straight line up. 3) If it involves grief or loss (and I feel it always does on some level) use this amazing book: The Grief Recovery Method Bonus: Mid-life crisis is real for men and women. And maybe even hormonal, but we don't talk about it
