Today I polished up and finished the drawing for this character. I imagine her being a swift and silent rogue who hunts demons that dwell in the night realm. If you were wondering where she puts her knives when she's not using them, she uses the skulls on her hips as sheaths - just stabs them in there I guess.
In regards to the concept design, I tried using moon-shaped elements and demon bones in her costume design to push the storytelling. It's a bit on the nose but I think it does the trick. The spikes coming off the moon horns also feel a bit reminiscent of burnt angel wings - maybe? The mix of materials (Bone, flowy metal, sheer fabric, bandages, etc.) is a bit more random than I'd like, but at least the variety is visually stimulating. I tried grouping the most complex elements around her head to focus more attention on that area as well as using the bones radiating around the moon structure combined with the hair "tie" to frame her head. Overall, I'm either adding costume elements to improve the design flow from one area to another or trying to frame areas to draw more focus.
I'm happy with how the translucent drapery turned out - it's always a tricky thing to draw, especially from imagination. If I paint this one day, maybe I'll add a glittery star effect to the sheer fabric. ⭐
