I have trouble with fitting the full DDU UDU for each G C G D chord of the verse. Does each chord get the full DDU UDU treatment or doesn't it have to? eg. Hey where did we go, days when the rains came? Where are the chord changes in relation to the words?

These songs you have arranged for us with fairly easy riffs are awesome transition pieces to go from just strumming chords to the next level. Brown eyed girl seems like an especially good beginner song because the chords convey the recognizable melody (many or most don't) - so you can learn it in steps and it is a recognizable song no matter where you are in that process. It has taken me a long time as a beginner to recognize all of that - Thanks for your help along the way. Your arrangement of "La Vie En Rose" was the very first song that I have really learned to play (Uke and then on Guitar) and be able to mix riffs effectively with chords. By the time I then learned your version of "My Girl" I understand that the "chord riffs" are 4 note (in a 4/4 song) melodic hooks played in the same scale that the chord is built from (light bulb! That's what you've been explaining all along!) The same thing could be done with many songs... Anyway, now that I've had that taste, I'm inspired to learn more like it. Big thanks! I only wish I had started earlier in life, but there was no YouTube then. Oh well...

This is a great song and this gives me a chance to ask "What is Van singing at the end? " It sounds like he is saying "six five six five six five." Since that does not make sense to me, can anyone tell me what he does say?

I love having the intro and riff. Van is a huge fave of mine. I'm never sure if I really understand the connection of notes and chords in any tab. But your point about the scale, the melody and harmony notes was very helpful. More thanks!
