Simple Licks for 12 Bar Blues - Student Sessions #1

Hello friends,

Today I got to sit down with my good friend, and student Dr. David for a beginner friendly blues lesson. Our focus was on learning how to create a lead-line connecting two chords, in this case, B7 to A7. ( the 5 and 4 chords key of E.)

We took the root notes of these chords, and filled the measures in with notes from our minor pentatonic scale before tackling a simplified version of our classic turnaround.

Every now and then I would like to share with you clips from my occasional private lessons, so be on the look out for more patron only "Student Sessions" in the coming days. Enjoy your practice! -Rob

Notes: I want to make sure that you all know the full progression that we are playing over. I've bolded the area in which our lead line fits:

E7 //// | //// | //// | //// | A7 //// | //// | E7 //// | //// | B7 //// | A7 //// |

E7 //  A7 // | E7 // B7 // |:

You're a gem, Rob. Thanks so much for taking the time to do this for me (us), as you can see my playing partner, Pam above, is ready to give this a try too.

Thanks, Rob! This is very cool. Thanks for the pdf, can't wait to give it a try.

Hey Dawn, Thanks. I put together a sheet for ya, check the attachments.

So neat. Dr. David is a lucky guy. Any chance you could attach a copy (pdf) of the tab that appears in the video? This is a great opportunity for my playing partner and me to work this together. Thanks as always.
