Figure Painting
Added 2023-07-25 03:51:54 +0000 UTCI spent a couple sessions on this figure study to practice painting straight ahead in color on just on a normal layer. Most of the time I had my background set to 50% grey so I could judge my values and color temperature properly as it's really hard to do that against a white bg.
I did the hand studies after the fact to test out a bit of a different approach, sketching with a bright orange color so that following layers would pick up the saturation and prevent muddy colors. I would call it a success but I think there's something interesting I could experiment some more with.
