Restructuring my Patreon

Starting July 1st, this will be the new tier structure and benefits for my Patreon. Tier 1 will remain the same, but tiers 2 and 3 will be unpublished on July 1st. You will still have access to your memberships' contents until the end of July, it just won't be visible to the public to join. Also, a lot of the content I've already published will be transferred to the new tiers to make the change as seamless as possible.

My reasoning behind this change is as follows. The most important aspects of character design are the figure drawing fundamentals: Gesture, Structure, Anatomy, and Form/Lighting. In addition, portraiture plays a key role in conveying the character's personality. Both figure drawing and portraiture can be learned in a similar style with a more academic approach and very few extra resources, making it a great entry point for artists at any level to start developing their character-focused skills and fundamentals. This is why I'm grouping them in the Figure Drawing Academy tier.

The Character Design Academy tier will build on top of the Figure Drawing Academy tier for people interested in pushing their character concept art further and exploring other avenues in design. I will cover other subjects such as reference gathering, mechanical design, hard/soft surface design, fashion design, props and accessories, color harmony, and most importantly the storytelling aspect of character design. Due to some subjects being a bit harder to cover with only images, I'll also be moving the weekly workshop livestreams to this tier.

In summary, I have been thinking a lot about the value I can bring to artists wanting to push their craft and I think this new tier setup will provide a better foundation for knowledge and inspiration to flow in a more accessible and sustainable way. I hope to see you stick around!
