Originally, I was going to have Salvadora just have her heat vision and use a throwaway line like "oh, I've always had this, I just never had to use it before" to explain my way out of her suddenly having heat vision, but I changed it to an event triggering its activation. Will she gain new powers as time goes on? Maybe.
