And Jon once said to Ygritte, your army is no army, they have no discipline they don't know how to fight together. You saw the perfect formation of Stannis's army attacking from two sides at once. So even if they had like 5 times the men in fighting age they don't know how to defend against a well coordinated attack. Thx for planning ahead.
