“Betty, too, was a star. As you know I need breaks in big social situations (which Beth and I talked about pre-game) but I didn’t want to just leave a sub during an ongoing dynamic.
It was so great to be able to say, “Hey Betty, can you make sure Beth doesn’t leave that spot on the ground while I get some water? Make them feel as good as you want.”
Interesting that the better that Betty was at spoiling them, the more comfortable I became at really wailing on them later…”
