Crisis Point: Extinction v0.37 release!

Hey everybody! Crisis Point: Extinction v0.37 is now complete and ready for action. More or less. Before I get into the meat of the post, I want to apologize for the almost complete lack of new sexual content in this update - I had plans for new H-scenes AND CGs, but with Kuso leaving the team so late in the development of this update, I'm afraid every single one of them fell through.

I was going to have Red work on the H-scenes for the new Torguis enemy, but I had to make him shift to CGs last second to take over Kuso's position, and to get any of that content complete I'd have to delay the update until very late December; even then I'm not sure if it would make it out before 2020, and I really don't want to risk that. So, instead, I'm releasing it now, and hoping you'll all accept my heartfelt apologies for the lack of new H-content. The only "new" H-content in this update is Orexius updated the Alraune's blowjob H-scene, to give her updated anatomy and some animation improvements, so if you're a fan of that scene, make sure you check it out!

As always, the download link will be included in the post after this one, and also PM'd directly to those pledged at the appropriate tiers during this update's development cycle.


UPDATE v0.37 MAJOR CHANGES AND ADDITIONS

-Added in new enemy, Torguis, to the Catacombs (doesn't have H-scenes yet)
-Create more areas to explore in the Catacombs and Deep Soil
-Finish adding mouse support to all parts of the menu
-Reworked save system to fix the issue where you cannot transfer saves between computers (NOTE: unlike previously expected, this change will NOT invalidate previous saves! Just load your save in, then save the game again, and your save will be automatically updated to the new system)
-Rework some level designs in the Catacombs to allow the player to explore it without Omnidash and Kilogrip abilities, then move Omnidash to further in the game (Omnidash is currently only available at the very end of the demo, and is not saved or loaded to your save file. If you previously got the Omnidash in the previous update, you will NOT have it when loading your save now.)
-Add voice acting for the new NPC from v0.36
-Added/tweaked various visuals, such as reworking dynamic water visuals to both look better and be more optimized
-Fix more bugs and minor issues


Despite the lack of new H-content, and the other things I wasn't able to get in (there are no new environmental conversations for example), this update still has some nice stuff in it. It's a bit of a transitionary update as we move into full production of new areas and content; there was a bunch of stuff I wanted to get done before we REALLY push forward with new areas, like updating the water visuals, adding nonlinearity by allowing you to go to the Catacombs OR Deep Soil in whichever order, moving the Omnidash and updating level designs to compensate for that, adding in the Torguis so the Catacombs level designs can be completed, etc. I didn't get as many new rooms to explore as I'd like, and Puffernutter was so busy with freelance work that she wasn't able to work on the Catacombs tileset much at all. Still, there's a decent chunk of new rooms added, and next update will be majorly focused on creating new stuff to explore. Speaking of next update..


UPDATE v0.38 GOALS

-Add in a new, underwater enemy
-Implement powerup that lets you explore underwater
-Create many more areas to explore
-Add in multiple new H-scenes, for the Torguis and the new enemy
-Add in multiple CGs, some reworked some brand new
-Add more environmental conversations
-Start work on 5th area of the game (probably won't be available in this update)
-Fix more bugs and minor issues


As you can see, v0.38 is majorly focused around brand new content, not only in the form of gameplay and upgrades, but especially porn content. I REALLY want to make up for v0.37 disappointing in that regard, and now that I have both Orexius and Red working with me on animations, I feel confident we'll be able to make it happen. I also want to start working on Area 5, which probably will not end up in this update - the tileset hasn't even been started yet, and it's probably going to be the most visually complex area in the game yet! Still, even if it doesn't make it in, there will be plenty of new areas to explore, between the Catacombs and underwater Deep Soil areas.

v0.37 MINOR CHANGES AND FIXES

-Wire shot platforms that are meant to be pulled vertically can no longer be pulled horizontally in certain circumstances
-Boss 2 no longer bugs out and stops functioning if you pull his eye out with the Wire Shot during his tar laser attack
-Starting a new game no longer ignores your volume settings for music
-The dialogue that plays when entering the Catacombs for the first time now triggers slightly further in, when you're actually in a cursed zone
-Environmental dialogues involving other characters can no longer be triggered when Alicia is in a cursed zone, where communications are cut off
-Tentacle and Dual Sentry BE H-scenes should now properly remove BE status
-Music volume no longer maxes out during a conversation if the player enters an area that changes music style
-Fixed a very longstanding bug that caused the player's first room transition after booting up the game to have slightly odd behavior in various ways
-Slightly raised Sentry's bullet damage
-Changed Warped Soldier AI so that they begin shooting quicker, BUT do not change shooting pose or direction once they've started firing, making dodging their attacks more consistent
-Changed colors of background pillars in the Summit to make it clearer that they're background objects, not obstacles
-Fixed some longstanding bugs regarding the Flare Shot's functionality and ammo consumption
-Fixed bug preventing Dual Sentry H-scene from playing the proper blowjob voice clips for Alicia
