Weekly Update - 9-29-19 (Status update)

Hey everyone. Before I start the actual update, since v0.36 is being pushed back into next month, I want to start this post with a reminder that even if you unpledge right now, if you pledged at the $10 tier during development of v0.36 (so either in August, September or the upcoming October), you will get v0.36 once it comes out. If you only intended to be pledged to get this update once it came out, you can safely unpledge now so you aren't charged for October and it will not affect whether or not you get the update when it comes out.

With that out of the way, I'm just gonna jump straight into the update without much preamble. Bad news out of the way first; I found out this week that the voice actress we hired for the new NPC is actually about to go on vacation for a full week, and our work for the character is nowhere near done. I'm really sorry for disappointing everyone, I really messed up the timeline of all this, but in the interest of not delaying the update massively, I'm just going to have to have no voice acting for the new NPC on the first release. I'm going to delay the update long enough for Kuso to finish the Poison Alraune CG, which I hope will make up for the missing voice acting, and then we'll put the update out asap.

The good news is that the update is nearly done aside from all of this. I spent a lot of my time this week on the new lighting engine, as I discovered a bug within it that was a pretty big problem and had to solve it asap. It was changing the way the lighting worked in ways I didn't intend, especially when it came to areas that only had a little bit of darkness, but I've managed to fix it (as well as numerous other issues with the lighting engine) this week, and the new lighting is nearly complete now. There were also a handful of issues that stemmed from the rendering changes I had to make, like the special effect when in a Cursed Catacombs area was broken, and so was the zoom function, and all of those that I know of were fixed this week.

Over the next week, my plan is to do some playthroughs of the game to find any other issues, and spend time fixing them and implementing the small handful of things I still need to finish for this update's new features.

My hope is that I can have the update out to everyone by this time next week, so with any luck you won't have much longer to wait. Thank you all so, so much for your patience and understanding, and again I am so sorry that this update has turned into such a shit-show.
