Upcoming Patreon change

Hey everybody, got a bit of a strange update for you today (don't worry, it's not about the game changing or anything)

Today I received an email from Patreon informing me about upcoming changes to the way they process pledges - namely, the processing fee that creators like myself had taken out of their pledges is now being shifted over to the patron who is pledging. What this means is that, before, if someone pledged $1 to me, I only saw about 2/3rds of that money - the rest was eaten up by processing fees. Under the NEW system, patrons will instead have the processing fee (which is 2.9% + 0.35 cents) added to their pledge - so a $1 pledge becomes roughly $1.37, $5 pledges become roughly $5.50, etc. Think of it as a sales tax or something of the like. The main reason for this is so that A) creators see a larger amount of the money that you choose to pledge to them, and B) so that a creator's pledge total on their page is a more accurate representation of their actual income. Especially for creators with a lot of $1 pledges, their pledge numbers looked a lot higher than they were actually earning after the fees came out.

This isn't something I have any control over, for the record - it's a site-wide change that will be implemented starting December 18th, and Patreon also stated that they'll be sending emails out informing patrons of this starting tomorrow. I just wanted to let you all know ahead of time. If any of you choose to unpledge because of the change, I understand, and I thank you deeply for any and all support you've given me up until now - and if it is something that upsets you, let Patreon know.
