Nose to the grindstone
Added 2017-08-11 19:00:05 +0000 UTCHey everybody! Just wanted to shoot out a quick update to let you all know I'm back home and settled in, so work on finishing up this update is now my #1 focus. I didn't get to work while on vacation nearly as much as I wanted to, sorry for that, but now that I'm back it'll be full speed ahead until the v.27 release. Right now I'm finishing up the new voice clips for humanoid enemies; after that, there are a handful of bugs I need to fix, mostly because of the new collision engine, and I'm still waiting on the final version of the new CG. After that, all that's left is some more sound effects, and v.27 will be wrapped up at long last! Assuming I get the CG soon, it should only take me another few days to finish this up, depending on how these bugs treat me.
I can't say for sure what v.28 will bring yet, but I'm considering getting started on the storyline soon. The next several updates will probably all be focused around the beginning areas of the game, polishing them up for a new public demo to show off just how far Crisis Point has come. The patreon has dipped pretty far now - which is entirely my own fault, with how slow I've been on delivering updates - but it is making it hard to continue paying the rest of the team, and the last thing I want to do is go back to being a solo developer.
Anyway, that's about enough out of me for now. I'll try to have some news on devstreams soon!

Or how Alicia had terrible anatomy originally? All of that was improved because I was able to hire people to cover my weaknesses, letting me focus on the things I really love and excel at. Not everybody is interested in or capable of being a one-man-army.

2017-08-11 22:10:03 +0000 UTCYeah, I'll be fine. I didn't mean for the focus of this post to be on the drop in pledges, I just brought that up to explain why I'll be focusing on the early areas of the game for a bit, so I can put out a new, more polished public demo and hopefully give people a better idea of what they'd be pledging for.

2017-08-11 21:55:38 +0000 UTCThis post wasn't so I could whine about losing money. I am fully aware of why it's happening and that it is 110% my fault, no matter why my work has been slow. The only reason I brought it up was to explain why I'm going to be focusing on the stuff early in the game for a while. As for your suggestion on tiers; the $5 tier is identical to the $10 tier aside from the price. If I just removed the limit from the $5 tier and did nothing else then I'd lose even more because none of the $10 patrons would have a reason to keep pledging that much. I've already talked about my plans for changing pledge tiers in the past, and I still plan to modify them soon. However, my first priority is to the game and getting it back on track.

2017-08-11 21:53:46 +0000 UTCJust a thought... If you didnt limit your $5 tier youd have a lot more subs... Theres probably plenty of people (like me) that think "Man, I wanna support this game... But I jsut spent $60 over 6 months and got literally nothing for it because this guy doesnt actually do work." I unsubbed from you for quite a while, only came back cause I wanted to see what was new... And the answer was fucking nothing. If you had a $5 option I probably never would have unsubbed and youd be up $30 instead of out $60.

2017-08-11 21:36:51 +0000 UTCWell I can personally say I'm happy with the overall game I can also understand why some people pulled their support with how slow it has been. I also know there's been more then one dev on Patreon that has sort of just fallen away from their project due to real life issues or even just lack of interest so people might have just been scared that's what was happening. I'm sure once you guys show that you're back in regular swing of things a fair few will happily return. Hope you're still making enough to make it a little while at least.

2017-08-11 20:46:29 +0000 UTCI still do most of the work for Crisis Point. The only things I don't do are the things I'm not good at - such as art, music, and sound effects. The only reason the artwork in Crisis Point has improved so much is because of the other people working with me.
