This one is something I know a lot of people wanted. As an upgrade to Alicia's standard blaster shot, the Spread Shot powerup turns each of Alicia's bullets into a large wave (as pictured above), exponentially increasing the size of its hitbox. Don't worry though, it doesn't collide with walls any easier, just enemies! This makes dealing with smaller enemies like slimes much easier. Don't think it'll make you kill any quicker though; it does the same damage as the original blaster.

Yeah, don't worry, it's not like I'd like them to be easier, but they were the first thing that came to my mind when I saw this xD

2015-01-31 02:16:25 +0000 UTCWell, their purpose is sorta to be annoying - to teach the player about mobility, and that sometimes it's better to just skip enemies, but yeah. They're a lot easier to take down with the spread shot for sure. If you're having trouble with the controls, you could try changing the default controls, or playing with a gamepad using xpadder!

Spread shot always was my favorite in Contra, though, so this is good news anyway! Am I the only one that says "Spread" like it's the sound of the shot being fired?
