Well I had a feeling it would happen, considering how little I've heard from him lately, but Dace has officially quit the project. Short-lived as the partnership was, I wish him well on whatever he moves on to. However, I am now left in the awkward position of not having a background artist. As I've said before, I'm not much of a background artist. It's my biggest weakness in art, and it takes me a LONG time to sprite a tile that's worthy of being shown off. It's by no means a good way to spend my time working. Forcing myself to make background art would slow me down immensely in all of the other aspects of development, so with that in mind, does anybody have suggestions for where I could search for a new artist? I'm willing to pay a fair amount for the work being done. In the meantime, I'll try and fix some of the art that people have complained about, but aside from that I'm not going to focus on it. Anyway, to keep this update from being completely boring, I attached another picture of the lighting engine, this time in a slightly lighter area. I don't have much to update with aside from that, since I've been working on non-visual things, but I should have some new sprites to show off soon. -A42

Huh.. I guess it kinda does look like a torch from that angle, lol. Nah, it's her gun, she just fired a Force Shot. I wanted to show off the way it looks with the lighting engine active.

Goodbye Dace, we'll miss your work and I haven't the faintest of ideas where artists for hire assemble. I'm an expert stick figure drawer if that helps =( The lighting engine looks good, It will be interesting to test. The torch in Alicia's hand (i assume it's a torch) The movement speed I'd guess would move the same speed as the gun/phaser/laser though. The Light around the characters looks good as well, it covers enough to keep that eerie feeling of being in the dark.

Ehh...I'd offer to try, but the only sprite work I've done with tiles has been for 8-bit style backgrounds (Or to be more specific, NES Megaman tile sets) And to varying extents, it usually invovled tweaking an existing tile, and then combining tiles from other sets to get what I want. If you wanted, I could try and make some stuff in said style, and then you could flesh it out to fit with the sprite style of the game.
