Hello Everyone,

I'd like to start with a sincere thank you for your support throughout the past year!

I currently have an idea that I am deliberating, please let me know what you think in the comments.

The Plan
My plan is to detach the requirement of an illustration from each map release, but to also increase my release schedule to 3 map packs a month.

When I started this patreon I had intended to release 3 maps per month, each with an illustration, but that has proven more difficult than I realised. Dropping the illustration requirement will allow me to create maps quicker, and be more adventurous with their designs.

Having more maps will mean I'll have more work to post across social media and hopefully expand my reach and our little community.

I still plan to do the occasional illustration, but these will be more varied in style and focus to add more narrative to my environments and their greater context in my world setting. I mostly just want to remove the requirement for an illustration for every release.

World Setting
I have an aspiration of creating a world setting for these environments and all the characters and creatures that inhabit them. With the extra time gained from dropping the illustration commitment, I could begin to do the extra work required to get this project off the ground.

Hopefully the added flexibility will help me to feel more inspired while working, and it will give me the chance to really focus my work on expanding the context of the world I’ve been building.

This isn't set in stone yet, so please let me know what you think in the comments. Thank you again for all your support.

December's release will be an illustration and map, as per usual.

I also find the illustrations to be a huge part of what makes your stuff so compelling along with your very unique and somehow mostly genre agnostic designs. But I also get that three illustrations and maps per month is way too much. For my part I'd rather get fewer maps per month with illustrations but I also get that your income model is set to per package so I can see how that'd be less than ideal. What about instead of doing three totally unique illustrations and maps per month you switched to three maps of a shared setting? So the first or last map is more of a building exterior or something like that along with an illustration, and then you release interior maps of the building like the main floor or something and then the next is an underground portion of the map? That way only one full illustration is needed. If you don't have enough ideas for one new location you could also go back and make secret areas for previously released maps too. I think this would help flesh out your maps more too since many of them are beautiful settings but you can only go so far with them. I guess to put it another way, if each location and setting still has an establishing shot type of illustration then that I think would be the most distilled version of what I love about your maps. And I would also love to see more secret tunnels and back area maps without illustrations. Edit: Oh and I love the idea of fleshing out the world and setting more! Seeing more from you in that area sounds great!

Would love more narrative and setting stuff from you. I love the illustrations; they're inspirational and i can't always show them to my players because i use an alternate version that doesn't fit, but when i do they always "oooooh" over them. But i'll happily take more maps over more illustrations; more chance of there being ones i can use. And more ideas on how to use them, and more interesting ones (god how i'd love to see an organic body horror dungeon or something from you)? Awesome!
