Added 2021-09-21 17:44:26 +0000 UTCThe second drawing I started during my most recent Picarto stream. The theme of the stream was pirates in celebration of International Talk Like a Pirate Day. Link All kinds of pirates. Traditional pirates, sky pirates, and of course space pirates; which meant I had to do a drawing of my villainous vixen, Vipera Vixen.
Space pirate, arms smuggler, smuggler, slaver, extortionist, business vixen, and rock star Vipera is a dangerous individual, and along with her crew and her space corvette the Ravager they've conducted hundreds of raids across numerous star systems of the 24th Century Solar Confederacy.
Vipera is skilled in dozens of hand-to-hand and small arms, both energy and chemically propelled. However one of her favorite side arms is an antique 1916 German Luger Lange Pistole 08. Also known by collectors as the Artillery Model Luger. Link
However Vipera's has been modified into a laser/blaster pistol. Where the magazine once went there is now a detachable energy cell and gas coolant pack. Every time the pistol fires a tiny squirt of cryogenically chilled gas is sprayed around the lasing chamber. This gas quickly heats and expands causing the toggle to cycle and vent the gas. Then the toggle closes again.
Does this make any sense. Hell no! But the Blaster Raccoon Universe from which Vipera, and Petina, originally came from is a place where the Rule of Cool calls the shots. Oh FYI. Vipera can attach a shoulder stock to the pistol along with optics, and there's an expanded snail drum-like power/coolant cell for sustained fire use.

Interesting! I just noticed you managed to show Vipera's pistol cycling as it was fired that I did not catch on my first viewing. And it's really neat how you were able to add a couple of her crew in the background giving the viewer the impression this was captured while they were boarding their prey. And it's always fun to view the image closer up to pick out little details like the zipper tabs and even what looks to be spare magazine pouches on her left hip. Very, very nice and hope this one finds a good home!
