In my anthro MLP dreamscape grownup Scootaloo is unable to fly, but she found her calling when she learned how to play the guitar. She's unable physically launch herself into the heavens, but her flying fingers create music that make other ponies hearts soar. So along with Applebloom and Sweetie Belle they formed the band Flying Fingers.

I suspect her wings can also be used as sonic reflectors to "aim" her music out into the audience.
