Next episode is going to break me. I’ll have a whole box of tissue with me. The way Tian carries guilt is heartbreaking & heart wrenching!!! I don’t think I’d make it honestly. This episode was amazing like all the others I can’t believe we are so far along. I actually like that we get through series fast because there are so many BL’s you haven’t seen & new ones releasing. As far as this episode goes I think that all Tian’s interactions with Phupa & the children were genuine. I just think Tofun’s book gave him more insight on everything. Also keep in mind that Phupa didn’t have a think for Tofun. He thought of her as a sister. So his like for Tian really has nothing to do with things Tian took out of her book. Tbh Chief liked Tian the second episode before they had even established a real connection. Also all of this could’ve been avoided had Tian just given context instead of letting everyone think he killed Tofun because his guilt won’t allow him to not blame himself.

I hadn't rewatched this series since it's original broadcast because this episode upset me so much. My reaction this time was more muted, but I still feel like Tian and the Chief are just not suited for each other. For whatever reason, the series did not suck me into the necessary romanticism needed to just go with it. (If you wanted to transfer emotions and wishes, you'd perform a brain transplant; hearts just pump blood)
Also, I really loved Tian's dark purple sweater in the opening and closing scenes...I don't think he's worn it previously.
