I understand but it's a way of looking at things very, very favorable to Kim... It's not wrong, but it excludes all the aggressive behavior he has towards Daon and even sexual assault towards him... I really think Kim loves Daon sincerely but his love is extreme, violent, brutal... He has only made bad choices, he especially hurts Daon a lot by being possessive while Daon does not give him permission... In short, he did everything to fail and, for several years, he handed Daon over to a psychopath... We can always say that it's a shame for him but he can only blame himself if he has come to this...

The timing of events in this show affected everything. I do feel really sorry for Soo-hyun (I know he’s a prick) but he’s also been completely manipulated by Jaemin
- Da-on was all in on Soo-Hyun back in the day. He 100% believed the feeling was mutual & went to do the confession
- At the time, Da-on viewed Jaemin as a big brother/mentor.
- Soo-Hyun was all in on Da-on, but Jaemin got in his ear and convinced him that the feeling wasn’t mutual
- Presumably, Jaemin saw Soo-Hyun as a threat to the control he has over Da-on. He loves Da-on needing him, and literally inserts himself into his family
- Da-on has no self esteem. He’s grown up with a dickhead dad & a chronically ill mum and resigned himself to a parent role for his siblings. Jaemins kindness and tutoring was his way out
- Da-ons sister had the same parent issues but did have Da-on looking after her, so she’s more grounded and suspicious of Jaemin. Whilst Da-on sees him as some kind of saviour, she finds everything he does suspicious and creepy
- Jaemin orchestrates Da-ons sexual assault, presumably to fulfil his saviour complex, although after the forced love bite, who knows
- Da-on called Soo-Hyun instead, who takes the nuclear option. I imagine the son of a high profile business man being embroiled in a gay sexual assault case (albeit as the hero), would be a massive deal, so Mummy & Daddy send him abroad to distance himself from Da-on. This is sold to him as beneficial for Da-on because it means the incident doesn’t go public.
- with Soo-Hyun out of the way, Jaemin takes all the opportunity in the world to trash talk him, ensure a distance is kept, talk about how he’s abandoned both of them to go abroad & plays the heartbroken jilted boyfriend so that Da-on hates Soo-Hyun
- in the time that Soo-Hyun is away, Da-on has time to ponder, and look at Jaemin differently
- he’s about to confess when Soo-Hyun resurfaces and Jaemin resumes the role of heartbroken ex boyfriend
- Soo-Hyun meanwhile has basically been in exile, after stopping the sexual assault on someone who has then ignored him for years, returns to find Da-on basically madly in love with Jaemin (thus proving Jaemin “right” from their university days)
- Da-on, believing Soo-Hyun is back for Jaemin, and also never knowing the relationship was fake, or that Soo-Hyun wanted him all this time, confesses to Jaemin who rejects him
- Jaemin rejects him for what could be several reasons, because he’s absolutely fucking mental. Because he thinks the confession stems from fear of Soo-Hyun coming back and them starting their relationship again. Jaemin knows Da-on’s feelings for Soo-Hyun were reciprocated, so he could see the confession as Da-on keeping Soo-Hyun single for later. It could be that a relationship can end, so why would Da-on keep needing him and being indebted to him after a break up?
- Soo-Hyun’s actions are all with the right intent, to keep Da-on from falling into the hands of proven lunatic Jaemin, but he’s a broken man after so many years of missed opportunities, family expectations & manipulation so his way of doing it is counter productive, hostile & unhinged. And when he thinks he’s getting through to Da-on, everyone’s favourite green forest Golden Retriever appears from thin air as another road block. Dudes had it rough
