2025-07-01 11:50:43 +0000 UTCSomething that's really struck me on this rewatch (and I have quiiiiite a few under my belt) is how good of a friend Wen becomes to Jim. There's absolutely no way to know how the situation with Beam's other woman is going to go, but Wen encourages Jim to get some answers, and like a good friend, waits for him while he does it. I think the same about episode 7; Wen doesn't need to be where he is in that episode, doesn't need to be so kind to Gaipa (his rival) but is, because he's being a friend to Jim. I find it quite lovely. (Fabi, if you haven't watched 8 yet, make SURE you stick around after the director credit for the final scene.)

2025-06-25 02:31:55 +0000 UTCI completely agree with you with the whole Heart situation, however, for the sake of making sense of it in my head, I'm choosing to believe that Heart developed an extreme fear of using his voice because of how "weird" it might sound, and didn't want to be judged for it.

2025-06-23 22:52:12 +0000 UTCIn an awesomely acted episode, the prize for best acting skills goes to... Khao! Gaipa trying not to cry got me 100%. I'm replaying that (and suffering) over and over. Let's sign a petition for a new series with Khao.... one where he doesn’t die or end up heartbroken. ***In 12:26, Fabi: Khao is the (awesome) actor that plays Leng in Good Dentist, and Gaipa in this. The cheater is Papang, who was also in Not Me (and also in Boys in love, where he plays a very meh character) Li Ming being extra happy about hearing Heart's voice was a strong contender... but I'm still put off by the fact that Heart should've been speaking since his first scene. Or just make him deaf since birth! That whole thing clouds their awesome scenes for me a little bit.

He's such a docile and handsome cat. I demand more Jimbo. I already knew how Jim was going to react to Li Ming being gay... I'm bracing myself, waiting for one of the most iconic phrases in BL history... that’s next episode, I think? Jim is so off base on this. I mean, he does worry, but come on... he just came back from being all gooey loovey on the beach with Wen, holding hands and being happy. Ahhh, la hipotenusa.

It’s weird, really, because I love all the actors in it, and I already knew about the great direction, cinematography, etc. But oh well, too many series to watch, too many other hobbies and work too. The upside is that I got to watch it for the first time with Fabi!

2025-06-23 21:21:41 +0000 UTCI love BL's, & I have watched a ludicrous amount from all countries & in all shapes & sizes, but this one always gives me the feels. Everyone feels like a real person. There's no "stumble into someone and make intense eye contact", or weirdly naive 18/19 year old's with a goldfish memory... or a canon ink printer. It's real people going through real life things. I love Aof, his direction is just incredible. Knowing that Earth, Mix, First & Khao are all besties IRL makes this one awesome too. You can just feel the warmth in this show. I love it Also, Li Ming & Heart are THE BEST teen romance I've seen in Thai BL's (don't come at me ITSAY folks, it's just my opinion). Ticket to Heaven is going to be incredible next year

2025-06-23 21:07:36 +0000 UTCOne thing I really appreciate about this series is how much local culture they work into the story in an organic way. Who knew there were auspicious oranges to eat for New Year? There's somebody at a temple or shrine in almost every episode. And then there's the food!

I think the worst thing in regard to Uncle Jim’s situation is he never got closure & has so many unanswered questions along with wondering whether the boyfriend ever truly loved him. To the guilt he felt when he died. As someone who was forced to accept a relationship ending with unanswered questions & never being given the opportunity to have closure I can say it’s one of the most traumatic experiences a person can go through. Then just imagine death being apart of the equation. I’d be at an insane asylum. Mental health would be on the floor. Side note: Next episode is gonna break me!!

2025-06-23 13:49:05 +0000 UTCFabi in you intro you mentioned Heart’s mother with the idea that she was possibly was being “overprotective” which some would assume of course because she’s a “mother” but I’m so glad that the writer & director didn’t use that angle in this series to victimize her or make people feel bad for her. For the simple fact that it’s problematic. I’m glad they allowed the character to simply correct her wrong doings & actually take into account that her son is a normal person who deserves the same freedom as everyone else. I had ranted on the last video about how the idea of overprotection being harmful to people with disabilities & is peak ableism. We need more BL’s that highlight characters like Heart & touch on topics like this. Side note: I hate that Li Ming felt he needed to apologize for taking Heart outside of the house. Hard eye roll at mother again!!
