First - Fourth 😅🤣🤦

Jens

Jeann

I guess I have unpopular opinions cuz I like comedy shows more than slow plots shows like I loved bad buddy my school president oceans love Thailand sweet tooth good dentist fish upon the sky star in my mind vice versa a boss and a babe hidden aganda only friends last twilight cooking crush cherry magic Thailand only boo we are wandde goodday my love mix up Thailand the trainee perfect 10 liners the heart killers thamepo my golden blood those are some of my favorite gmmtv shows

kelly earnest

I also Iike this show but I find slow plots kind of boring I know it's good but it bores me when the plot is to slow or doesn't have enough comedy or chaos going on

kelly earnest

AHHHH they're just the CUUUTESSST! 😭

Fabian Gonzalez

You asked about the chin scratch thing that Liming did and how it reminded you of Gun and wondered if it was just a Thai thing. No, it’s a GeminiFourth thing lol. They randomly do unscripted things like this and we go 🫠

Si

the script and acting is OUTSTANDING!!! 🏆

Fabian Gonzalez

aww thank you for explaining this! I wanna try doing that one day 🥹

Fabian Gonzalez

not you relating to Jim 🥲 I think a past version of me relates to him, and it kinda makes me sad 🥺

Fabian Gonzalez

Hi Layla! Sorry it's taken me a while to reply. Thank you for joining my Patreon, and welcome to the lil family here <3 And I agree with you, I love what GMMTV got going on, but more mature stuff like this will definitely have an audience 🙋🏼‍♂️!

Fabian Gonzalez

I loved First's dramatic entrance! 😂 and yeah, I relate a little bit to all of them in different ways and at different stages of my life, even to Jim!

Fabian Gonzalez

ahhh there's a strong list of contenders for next show. I'm so so so tempted for it to be ATOTS, The Eclipse and Only Friends. All for very different reasons 🙈

Fabian Gonzalez

I also think that you should watch Only Friends next, stick with the Mark reactions (you will be VERY surprised 😮). Plus you meet some BL greats. Show is full of messy, morally questionable characters, but has some great acting and you'll fall in love with First (Yok)

For me I just love Li Ming and Heart in this. Their relationship just feels organic and special and very pure. The fact GeminiFourth were only 17/18 years old when they filmed MSP and Moonlight Chicken adds to the reality of the characters in both shows. I think every characters actions is understandable, but as an audience we relate to some better than others. Jim irritated me 😂 but I get why he is the way he is. I love the dramatic entrance First gets 😆 I was so irritated with Wen when I first watched this (annoyingly I didn't want Jim to be right and become more shut off, that would be depressing)

Georgina Devonshire

Hi Fabi! I recently joined your Patreon, and it's so much fun to watch you discovering why Moonlight Chicken is so beloved! I agree with all the other comments here, the warmth and tenderness in this show but particularly with Heart and Li Ming is so lovely. I was also recently reminded of this in one of the recent episodes of Boys in Love, one of GMMTV's currently airing shows, which is also extremely sweet and wholesome and lovely - it focuses on a bunch of couples in high school, but it also has a sweet side story involving two teachers (one of whom is Papang!) and the teachers had a discussion about how they wished their teenage years had been different as well, although ultimately going through all of that is what helped shape spaces to hopefully be better. I would honestly love more mature BLs, from GMMTV or anyone else - there's so much scope to explore stories like these and all the complicated but tender feelings that come from it!

Layla123

This is a masterpiece! Have you noticed the quality of the dialogues, guys? They are excellent and pay close attention to the actors' expressions during the conversations... incredible! Everything is very subtle, insightful and therefore so real, so believable.

wjr.

I’m so glad your finally checking a show out with khao in it he is so incredible in everything he does

To give you more insight, Loy Krathong is a traditional festival in Thailand, where people release some floating lantern to the river, wishing for some blessing from the water goddess. But also, nowadays Loy Krathong is also a Thai version of Valentines Day, where couples release their floating lantern together, wishing for long-lasting happiness and love together. That's also why Gaipa was trying to ask Uncle Jim to go to Loy Krathong together. And then, Uncle Jim and Wen making wish and releasing floating lantern together, it's also kinda a sign that they are making some "bond" together. And Li Ming making promise with Heart to go to Loy Krathong together next year, it feels like they are trying to build some "future" together.

TanuTsuki86

He’s my favorite in all of GMMTV. He never fails to make me smile or cry. Haha!

Sunny Days

You couldn’t be more right. I got a Master degree but the edge I have is more debt than someone without 😂 and maybe being able to put “Master degree” in my CV but not many people care tbh 😆

Fabian Gonzalez

Haha one bit GMMTV fam indeed!

Fabian Gonzalez

OMG i couldn’t recognise Jim’s ex!! That’s a real Clark Kent effect 😂 And the thing about learning is really true. You really need to find your learning method and a motivation. Heart was really his motivation 🥹

Fabian Gonzalez

Khao is so nice and good looking, it's imposible not to like him, in any role he plays XD

Philippe

It was an amazing episode. I wholeheartedly agree with the sense of realism in it. The script, acting, and cinematography make it exactly the kind of BL I love. I really hope Li Ming and Jim can communicate better again, it makes me sad to see them fighting. I'm a sucker for wholesome family relationships in series. It's interesting that Jim still calls Wen 'khun'... he's so adamant about not giving him a chance. Poor Jim, I really felt his trauma around love and trust (in this situation where everyone relates to a character, I’m totally Jim u.u) Wen’s dad is nice, funny, and hot XD

Philippe

100% agree, these are the best series. Have you seen I told sunset about you?

Philippe

Hi Fabi, I think you and I both have very similar tastes in BL. I too love Moonlight Chicken for its rawness and grounded to the realities of life. Like the story just spoke to me and feels very genuine and true. Which is why I was really hoping you would react to this because I just know you’d enjoy it as much as I did. So far, this has been my favorite in the Thai section so far. I like realistic storylines that tackle real life issues and dilemmas. Looking forward to other reactions soon. Hope you enjoy the rest of the episodes!! ✌🏼😊

Also another think I like about this show is that it has firstkhaotung, first is Yok from not me so u know him but I guess this is the first time I are seeing khaotung (Gaipa in this show).

Betty G

I like this show because of heartliming 🤍 their story is so heartwarming. I don’t know if you have noticed something about liming in ep 2 and in this ep. He is struggling with defining a plan for his future but he is struggling with his sexuality too. So in ep 2, when his friends were talking about girls and showing pics of girls he was uncomfy and refused to look at the pics. In this ep, when he was on his motorcycle after meeting Wen, he saw a hetero couple wearing highschool clothes so his age … and he kept looking at them and his eyes were 😥😥 I loved this details they keep adding that makes u understand the debt of liming. A teenager struggling with his sexuality, their poor conditions, him not being fit for school system, him wanting to get out and make money …. Also Heart, well heart is being kept in a box and he starts knowing the world thanks to Liming. We see it from this ep where Heart didn’t even know there is a festival today … he was able to celebrate that festival in his box but not alone 💔

Betty G

every episode i see bits of my past and present self in a character. this episode i related to LiMing strongly. i experienced that kind of pressure and frustration. it took me a while after high school to really figure things out, and honestly, sometimes i still feel kind of lost. but, c'est la vie and that's why i appreciate these stories. i'm glad LiMing had Wen to talk to. it really does help to talk to people outside of family and your immediate circle sometimes. btw- fun fact for Fabi: when LiMing said he wanted to be a zookeeper, Wen (Mix) gave him a cute acknowledgment. Mix is a veterinarian irl. 🥰

Sunny Days

I think that the reason why I really love the high school BL’s is because it allows me to live vicariously through the characters & it hits a soft spot for me. So seeing Li Ming & Heart or even Gun & Tinn is just bitter sweet. Which is why I think for this series they overshadow Uncle Jim and Wen for me personally. But I still love me some EarthMix!!

Gemini

I love Li Ming’s story so much. I really appreciate the fact that the character is realistic. I’m able to see myself. This idea in many cultures that you have to have your entire life planned out before graduating high school is exhausting & unrealistic. Like what if I don’t wanna go to college?? Is that so horrible??? I was one of those teens just like Li Ming who didn’t know what I wanted to do, and to be honest I felt like school just wasn’t for me. And per usual adults tried to pressure me into having my whole life figured out and tried to my me feel bad that I wasn’t going to college. I’m glad I followed my heart, and did exactly what I wanted to do because I see a lot of people my age & older who did exactly what they were pressured to do. Now a lot of them are unhappy, struggling, and in debt. A lot of these people have full blown Master degrees/years of college under their belt that make less money than I do and not even working in the fields they went to school for. While I did a small trade that took me quarter of the time & found an amazing job that afforded me more opportunities/skills.

Gemini

Welcome back Liz ❤️ I’m going to be working on getting the episodes on YouTube next week that I’ll be back from vacation 😂 And yes this series is quickly becoming one of my favourites! I’ve only seen up to episode 4 and I can’t wait to keep watching. I find it really relatable too and I feel the calming vibe especially with Li Ming and Heart’s scenes 🥰 I was also a bit like Li Ming but more on the reserved side. I never really talked back I’d just stay quiet and give death stares instead 😂😂😂 Also totally agree it’s so beautiful how we all interpret things differently and still find joy in the same story.

Fabian Gonzalez

He looks so pretty in that scene! Loved the lighting haha

Fabian Gonzalez

I’m happy that more kids can experience this without all the judgement from before, but at the same time a tiny bit jealous. I only hope things keep progressing and not going backwards like in some places 😣

Fabian Gonzalez

That’s so interesting!

Fabian Gonzalez

❤️❤️❤️

Fabian Gonzalez

My thoughts come from experience 😭 omg teenager me was SO dramatic 😂

Fabian Gonzalez

Yes, First was in Not Me. So was Jim’s ex (Papong) who played Gumpa. And then there is Wen’s Dad (Chok) who played Black/White’s dad. Just one big GMMTV family.

Tom Schlange

Fabi, you couldn’t have timed the Hannah Montana reference any better, given that Jim’s ex is also in Not Me, but looks completely different here because he’s wearing glasses. Papang in glasses makes me realise the Clark Kent / Superman thing is absolutely possible. Also, one of the things I love about Li Ming is that he completely struggles with the academic way of learning. His grades are really low and he’s failing English despite desperately wanting to learn it in order to move, but picks up sign language really easily because he’s learning the skill through real life interaction and outside of a classroom. He is absolutely meant for a Work Travel program!

Natalie Warner

Hey Fabi, literally rejoined Patreon during exam season bc I cannot wait until this hits Youtube lol. This series is my favourite... EVER from GMMTV, the way you say it makes you feel at peace is so funny to me bc to me it shook me to my core bc of how relatable i found it, both as a teenager(i was a teen when it aired lol) and as a queer person(these different interpretations- that's what makes art amazing, wouldn't you say). Teenage me was literally Liming,. Something about it is so wonderfully ordinary and I see how that might be more... peaceful for others and its because of this same ordinary that I loved it so much. I am so excited to see how you like it at the end, EarthMix(the main cp), GemFourth and everyone, including P'Oaf, truly outdid themeselves with this one.

Liz Ludlolo

Your expression when First appears was exactly how I felt the first time. Thanks for letting me relive it haha.

Croix Royce

Your comment that you “wish you could have experienced that” simple, warm connection when you were in school is my feeling also. I think one reason I love BL so much, is that it’s cathartic. When I watch the characters experiencing those lovely things that I never could, it’s healing in some little way. And sometimes a little sad too.

Timothy Panngam

The Thai people believe that cutting their hair or fingernails and placing them in a krathong (a decorated floating basket made of banana leaf), then setting it afloat on a river during the Loy Krathong festival, symbolizes letting go of bad luck or suffering from their lives.

Tatpon S

❤️❤️❤️

eds_o4

Your thoughts about how it feels being a teenager are so spot on. Everything really does feel like life or death. Emotions are 100 times stronger. And the feeling that we are not understood is ever present.
